Daniel, You have an incredible understanding of form and how to make it sing with your renders. Pencils are are very sensitively applied in a way that takes some folks years to control and vary in touch. Only starting out, too. I love to see the progress build from one post to the next on a particular piece. These last ones simply confirm what all have been saying, you have some serious skills. Your work is arrestingly beautiful. You are only going to strenthen and your art will explode with more power as you gain experience. Keep focused on that wonderful thing you have, that creativity and your unique vision. The love for the art shines through loud and clear in your work. Keep your focus on it. It can only get better.
Hey man, what i like about your work is that i see them as future paintings, as a whole picture like this one http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1170193542, the shading is looking too good, the framing, the decorative elements, i love it. In constrast some of your drawings feels empty, maybe because you decide to work on it later, but i think you're using the same elements, like agrupation, superposition of the character/objects avoiding more free exploration over the page, i mean like creating a situation-interaction between them.
Anyways, your figures and shading is looking great and keep working hard.
there is is magic in the air of Reunion island .I am such a sucker for your compostion.you fucker , dont ever ....never ....I mean never ever put down the lead. Actually you along with ROD and lukias and AZtc have the strongest lead work here.even your sketches look better than my finished.you make me proud .

Hey brutharrr! Dig the way you handle mouthes, very realistic and very believable.
Man I need to start trying to catch up with you again, maybe then I'll make some progress.
Awesome work man, damn inspiring. Right now the only crit I have is to use more media if possible. But really, everything here is simply astounding.

Here's a quick one... sorry, is not very good, i feel a bit rusty after taking care of some paperwork and homework :/... i'm back seriously now.
shits top notch...well not shit...This sketchbook goodness is top notch....yeah...really though...loving each update. Keep posting these goodies.
Yay Dan's back!
Aw, that means I suck even worse doesn't it? Oh well, can't have it all.
Cool update Dan, colours are coming along real well. Here's a thought though: Loose control. The brush(es) you're using is very simply and straight-foward and requires control to get results. Get some weird `n whacky brushes and just start having fun. Even if you don't like the results or prefer the controlled approach, it's always a good excercise. Just a thought
Keep rocking Dan m'Man!
Gspot: Thank you
PaperX: hehe, i'm still learning, so i'll try a bit everything. Thanks!!
brendan: yeah, i tried the default quite textured ones from ps, but they seem a bit too simple on long strokes. i'll try Bumskee's ones. Thanks !
Oki: Hey! yeah, i botched up that one :/... thanks !
Here's a rather quick one (30 to 40 minutes). It looks alot like an old one i did, but i concentrated more on the colours. And as a result, i spent way less time at choosing them. I just threw them the way i imaginated them.
More later. Gonna take a small brake, this morning gym got me.
Wow dude, really nice! Dig the skin tones on the arm, looks great man.
You're right, PS' brushes don't really cut it - tricky to get good results. You can make your own though - if you don't know how just shout and I'll show .
One crit I can give you is to just clear up your brush work a bit. Work at getting as comfortable with the tablet as you are with a pencil!
great work, cheers!
post #443 is nice. like the way you gave the face definite planer breaks. I feel like it could be better with some more color variation in there, especially with his gear. and possibly a really bright highlight to show more reflectivity. the more I look at this one the more like it. hey, how old are ya? keep on going with ps stuff!
