Voted for Tom Garden this time around. I liked the concept very much, and I liked the piece's mood overall. Very nice execution, Tom, your stuff is really getting to be great, and you have a definite style in your cows, and you surprised me this time. I liked also how your creature fit into its environment. I get a good sense of scale, and atmosphere.
Phuzion: Man, you were a very tough choice to leave. I was pretty much split fifty, fifty. I love your piece, but I guess what it came down to was not execution, which in your case is flawless, but concept. I am not buying the 50 gazillion years thing, but beautiful beautiful job, and great mood. I also found your approach to this novel.
Jakkas: I am a huge fan of yours, and the colors in this one are oh so yummy, I want to go and lick that thing. You were my third choice, but the concept didn't really win me over, and I got kind of lost reading your description (that might just be me not being very smart). Also I like it when you put your cows in an environment better, but that's just a personal thing.

carotello: Whoa, easy there! If you go around licking things that "look yummy" because you like the color you live a precarious life-style! Not everything that looks pretty is lickable :p

I no lick u, cuz you ugly!
Would that be cadmium red or cadmium blue?
And i voted Jakkas, thought it was purty too.
darn, lots of great submissions in here! really hard choice, but my vote finaly went to Phuzion. great work dude!
Jakkas got my vote for a well developed interpretation of the '50'. I like the medical tie, but that's my field...so go figure. Incredible rendering and nice to see you venture into a slightly tougher pose.
Cognition was my close second. This one was very dramatic, but almost too loose. Sweet none-the-less.
Rawwad and MikeC - awesome job on the rendering. They look believable since they were drawn so well....but then I ask 'why?'....and then I ask well, 'why not?' and then I fight myself. LOL. Good job no matter what I say or think.
All - great job and happy 50 COW!!
There is no "I" in team, but there is an "I" in pie. And there's an "i" in meat pie. Meat is the anagram of team...~Shaun "Shaun of the Dead"
i was all for rawwad's, but flip had a really good idea also.
the fool thinks himself the wiseman, but the wiseman knows himself the fool.
Amazing. I haven't been here long, but this is one tight and richly painted week from so many artists! It was tough, but i had to go with Tom Garden's. Great emotion, scale, and action. It really come across as a scavanger with all its tendrils!
Opinions and critiques always welcomed!
Interesting race, notice how rawwad's shark is getting dangerously close to AndrewLey's Bunnyeater!!! Ah, this is almost as exciting as the WorldCup!!!

I went with Flip for creative purposes, with Andrew Ley a close second for the same reasons.
Oh wow it was really hard choosing the winner this time around. So many great paintings and even more great ideas. For me though, it would be PHUZION probably because of my bias towards space imagery. That and the fact that I can totally imagine it soaring through the aeons. Great job EVERYONE!
I voted for walnut. Even with plenty of great entries competing for attention, his spoke to me the most. I love the colors and background details as much as the 'creature' itself.
scoonie Nice rendering, and color! imo the feet aren't drawn and rendered as well as the furry bits but it's vignette shape of the background that bothers me the most. Give it more character. Make it a specific shape geometric or not, but make the look more intentional.
MIKECORRIERO Nice enough, but when I saw your other sketches of this beast in the forum members area, I saw much more character in the poses. The nest would have made a nice addition to this piece.
JakkaS Beautiful colors here too. Fabulous rendering as always. Somehow I feel guilty voting elsewhere when you're this good. Wish I had more than 1 vote to give.
dragon4lunch Great job. Spread some of that bright lighting onto the fish, and in some wet highlights on the ground near his head and I think it would look better still. The one thing that actually bugs me is the way that the tree branches tend to spring forth from one location. It looks rather clunky.
Tom Garden Wow! Nice leap forward imo. As for critical commentary, the clouds in the sky have the same kind of horizontal banding from the top down to the horizon. Break that up more so the eye/brain doesn't pick up on those patterns.
Andrew Ley Quite a bit of style. Not keen on the specifics of your entry, but it got me to check out your other work and I love the mech designs I found. It occurs to me that this is put together in exactly the same way, but without converting all the anatomical references over to something mechanical. Interesting.

I voted for Mike Correiro's (again), but was really torn between that and Andrew Ley's 50-armed creature. The painterly rendering on that was really speaking to me, but I thought that it was a bit too grey to really pop, whereas Mike's was, as usual, clean and vibrant.
Great job everybody. This was definitely one of the hardest to vote on in a while.
Rawwad got my vote. Elegant and real looking creature.
I almost forgot to write something.
Thx for comments and votes guys. I am happy that I have 10 votes – there is so many great entries and I was sure that I will not have more then one or two votes. hehe Thx again.
I have already voted for rawwad. I like his creature, but specially I like the rendering. It’s look so real. Sweet man! I was sure that you will be the winner …and you still have the chance hehe
dragon4lunch, Tom Garden, Bammer, and Phuzion. Off course there is more interesting entries but these few I like more then the others.
Ah, soo difficult to choose- all creatures kick major a$$!!! o_O
MikeC, Rawwad, cognition, JakkaS, dragon4lunch, bammer, tom garden, Andrew, phuzion!!!
I thought, the colours and the idea of Phuzion's totally caught me! Looks utterly beautiful to use the most fitting word!
But then, bammer's looks so interesting and creative, awesome render, too!
Andrew Ley's and dragon4lunch's look scary as hell!
Ah, damn, lets give it to Phuzion this time. Very cool take on the topic!
Actually I think he voted for rawad's shark, didnt he?
