hey man, life drawings look better and better, and looks like you work really hard, and that is great.
Keep pushing man, you're improved a shitload overtime, and as long as you don't slow down, it can just get better and better.
Keep sharing, i'll be back
You guys are great! I have to thank you for the constant support! Ive been very very busy recently. I'll soon get time to update (very soon). Ive been getting up at 6:30am to help finish a graduate film Im priviledged to work on. The film will be finished soon and I will be moving to my second year in a few months and hopefully I'll get the role of painting enviroments for the film! I feel Ive got a work process nailed down and I cant wait for all my other work to be sorted so I can put into practice what I think Ive learnt.
Prophet - Thanks Danny boy! Im looking forward to the prospect of working with ya. Its been crazy down here. The reason I havent posted in a while is because of the course. It is hardcore! There is a lot of drawing to be done though me and my friends have coped very well. Just prepare to draw a lot!
Dile - Im flattered We'll see how right you are hehe I havent done life drawing in 4 weeks I think and Im really missing the fun. Thanks for the support bro!
VanDog - Cheers! Im planning some more enviroment paintings that I hope you'll also enjoy
TheGnoll - Thanks dude! I try to work hard and smart, you can draw the same stuff again and again and you may not learn much from it unless you challenge yourself and question what your dong and enjoy the sheer frill of it!
Havent scanned anything to show atm. But heres a link for you to check out. Ive been saving it till the film is finished but I just cant wait! Its the grad film Ive helped a bit on. Enjoy!
Hmmm, got a bit more things to do so a full update will have to wait a little longer. I need to build up a portfolio of backgrounds just to be safe that I'll get into the film I want. Anyway heres the finished painting of my room with a dark mood added to it.
Still a bit busy, deadlines are coming up so soon I would have all my work finished. And then its straight back intowork again. Ive got a role on a new grad film for next year and we beginning the storyboardings and concepts on wednesday. I got the layout design and background painting role I wanted woot! Things are getting exciting!
Anyway, I promise to do a proper scan soon.
Heres a watercolour and charcoal study for a previous layout.
Still wiping this one.
Just finished this layout. The painting will come soon. This is a studio for an oriental toy maker.
hey all is looking good, nice sketch for the desk piece. Those colours on the new bedroom piece are working really well, they compliment each other nicely, i think maybe some darker colours for the foreground may work? the layout for the toy makers studio looks good too. You dont happen to know whether that cheque arrived?
Sorry for the lack of updates, Ive been lazy. Bah!
Prophet - Cant wait for you to join the course!
Evil Sloth - W00T! SSG XXXI FTW! You guys are good crits so that helps me loads.
archipelago - Thanks, a bit sick of painting interiors atm
Heres the toy maker's place. I would have rendered all the little details properly but it ended up being a lot of work and I became bored. I know I know, I need some discipline to stay with it.
Heres a wip for my very first CHOW. Nearly finished.
Hey you've really upped your game with these last two...theres a definite improvement, not just in colour...but that character is more balanced...better thought out and interesting design...well done mate...
We had three trips to the zoo to draw some animals in motion. Its was a really fun couple of days. Moving animals are tricky and that was the challenge to see how you can use your memory to aid your drawings. The first day went very well, I was excited, there was lots to see. The second day was bad though, I felt complacent and less motivated and less confident. But the last day went the best. I had to redeem myself for the second day so I was very up for this trip and prepared myself for it.
Heres a few unordered pics.

Check out the website for grad film Ive worked on. Its been updated with some new artworks and the finished film is now up. The film is very good and working on the project is an experience I will remember for the rest of my life!
Heres some more updates. A few observational studies and some thumbnails.

hey man hows it going? you having a nice summer??
These updates are cool...i like all the thumbnails and small sketches. There are some really quality drawings in there, however some of the doodles let down the others...i have the same problem, i do a good drawing of something, then do another but with less concentration . I find it hard sometimes to keep that level of concentration up, especially when your sat outside or at a cafe trying to draw moving people. Despite that, i think your still improving at a pretty fast rate..just keep it up.
Been to the Annecy animation festival for a week. Brought back a couple of awesome books! Fantastic fun, and I cant wait for the next one. Well, Ive moved away from my student house for the summer, so I cant really lock myself away to work for a while. I'll try my best to find time anyway.
Prophet - Summer is great! The course went to Annecy (France)!!!!!! Met another guy who's gonna b a first year next term. Yeah, if I take time off drawing for a while I find I need to build up myself back up. Moving people are a bit tricky, but thats when youve got to call upon your memory for aid. Take care bro!
I'll get scanning once i instal the scanner. Heres an oldish scan I took. Its a self portrait! Hope to do more!
Hey thems Character designs be real strong, especially the bunch O faces towards the bottom...lots of nice variations, each one unique..The horse is looking good too, especially because their SO god DAMN hard to draw! keep it coming!
I went to the arts institute too! except it was called bournemouth and poole college of art in my day...sob! so old!... are you doing animation? if so, does peter parr still teach there?
Yus! Im going to start my second year there soon. Did you study animation too? Peter Parr is the master! He's still hanging around (though hes thought about retiring at some point). Strange how well known PP is, when I was at Annecy earlier this month a few people mentioned his name when I said I was from the AIB!
yeh, i did animation in (i think) 1994-96. although in hindsight i got a hell of a lot more out of the life drawing sessions than i did the animation; make the most of it while you can (if they're still doing it)!
Yeah, theres still a lot of life classes going. I cant wait for term to begin so I can get more life drawings under my belt!
Heres something inspired by thegreypencil.
hehe that Fellow has a rather charming face...and a rather disgusting Boobilicious body, in a good way...i think..yea defiantly in a good way. Lol the drawings of your class mates made me chuckle...All is going well here...im looking forward to the Manchester CA. Meet...should be a laugh.
I like what you've done with the portrait, good value really pushes it out, and nice rich colours, not sure about the highlights though, it makes it quite shiny, almost like a wooden manakin.
And your latest one in grotesque and great! Andy would love it.
Wow ... real good sketchbook .... i love your sketches and your eyes ... is it watercolor?
I'd like to be a non-conformist, like all of my friends
Prophet - Hahaha! Boobilicious! Yes, looking forward to the meet also. Itll be fantastic to draw around with a huge group. Ive been drawing around Manchester with one or two friends and we usually get a reaction from people so I cant wait to see how theyll handle an army of us!
Evil Sloth - Thank you slothy my man! Slap in the face eh? Well, youre a kick up the arse, mate!
Hazamataz- I thought u were gonna keep ur new account? Ah well. Yeah I there was something odd about that sp, it made me look wierd Actually Ill have you know my face is made of wood...
Ropa - Thanks man. Glad u like my eyes hehe You must be refering to my self portrait? Thats done digitally on painter.
OK heres my entry for Chow 80. I'll probably change the background a bit and touch little bits up. If theres any last minute crits Ill love to have them.

what the hell.. my subscription to this thread stopped giving me emails. i thought you just stopped drawing or something D: last one is the best so far imo. the tiny trumpets stickin out of her breasts are a little... distracting. the design is great but I feel like her instrument (banjo/trumpet thing) should be coming at the viewer in perspective. the way she's holding it, i don't think the viewer would see just a side profile of it. and stuff
