Hey gang. Its been a very long time since i've last posted on this forum. My art has taken a huge hit, and I want to go back to essentials as much as I can. So i'll try to update this badboy daily, and with some colour sketches as well.
Ok, so here we go...

Hey Jar, what's up? Nice start on your sb! I like these sketches bro. Nice job on the portrait piece. Look forward to seeing more of your stuff! Welcome back!
gmags - Thanks alot man! I'm really trying to get back into the flow of things.
Hey gang. Here is today's batch. I really need to get back into bridgeman...
First one here was a blind drawing. I saw another forum sketchbook where they did this, looked fun
These next two were done at work off the top of my head.
Here is today's batch!
Just a couple of quick warmups off the top of my head. The 2nd page has little dudes on it, and I made a finalized version on page 3.
Some Bridgeman proportion studies;
Then lastly, this one was a real quick doodle, where you sort of scribble around on the page, then make something of it. Really fun thing to do.
Hey gang! A lite post this time! Tomorrow's will be better. The first is a quick paint over of a previous post. I'm trying some new things around in photoshop. I don't think I like the preset brushes. Maybe i'll thinker around more, or just stick to painter.
And the second is a panel from the comic i'm working on. Cheers!
Did some more today when I woke up.
Another scribble turned into something.
These are quicks from Bridgman.
Trying to use Bridgman's break down on people from a magazine.
love the city scape! good to see you back again, hope you can stay for longer this time eh eh!
a suggestion with the females, make their waists longer, essentially i think it might help to group the external oblique with the waist to make the lower part softer and wider. also make sure the rib cages arent too big but be sure to keep it at roughly 1.5 head lengths.
look more into the pelvis too- have a go at drWing the bone structure un-simplified and try get access to a skeleton if you can its immensly helpful for figuring out how to place the legs and the muscles...you definitly have the riht simple shapes its good to see the waist as a rectangular box wider at the front- keep that up! cheers
Thanks Rod! I too plan on being here for a little while
Been a while since I last updated this bad boy Been really busy, found some time to colour this. Cheers!
I thought I would start this post off with some colour! The guy beneath this is Trace from Metroid Prime Hunters. Not sure how many of you are familiar with this guy, but none the less, he's sweet. Just a quick drawing and colouring job. I may do some more in the future
After that is some sketchbook stuff, followed by a design for the comic I'm working on. The design is for the Sin known as Sloth in his demon form.
Until next time! Keep creating! And keep it FRESH!
'Nother day...'nother post
Oh and the show 24 owns you!
Been WAY to long. Fell out of the loop here, and was lost in work
I'm also working on a new site. Should be up sometime soon. I'll keep you all posted on that.
Here we go again! Just some older stuff until I scan current work.
Trying to learn to paint better in photoshop.
Here is today's batch. I'm looking over K.Chen's work again, trying to apply it. Having fun at having troubles understanding it all
This one was kindda fun. I was at work, and was about to start drawing, when one of the girls I work with said to do a characture of the guy on the cover. I'm not very good at doing charactures, but what the hey
After I did the pencils, we photocopied like 10 copies, and posted them all over the employees rooms and washrooms. Each had funny messages attached to them. Great fun!
What's up mate!
Lovely sb you have here. Very fluid charas and awesome designs
How big is that perspective drawing in life? Looks frikking cool.

Ha ha thanks man!
Actually, its on normal printer paper turned side ways. I do all my stuff (except comic pages) on printer paper. So smooth
Holey Crap, Jar!!
Awesome works, best I've seen from you.
I love how you can work those rendering hatches. And those cities are devine!
Nice to see you cranking up stuff and going back to basics.
I'm kinda doing the same as well.
Good Luck to you and your buddy(caanan) and to your comics!
Bard - Ha ha thanks! Yeah, Caanan and I are trying to improve, and of course there is nothing wrong with that I hope to see more of your stuff around, and thanks for stopping by!
camilografix - Thanks muchos man!
Hey guys! Today's post is a little small. Something to update, just for the sake of updating
The first picture is from a panel of comic page I finished yesterday, and the other 2 are the cover for Kord & Harley issue 2. It'll be coming out sometime, and i'll keep you posted! (Note: I didn't ink or colour the 2nd version)
OldNoobie - Thanks for stopping by!
Hey gang, another small concept update I hope to have some more colour and life drawing/anatomy sketches with the next update! Hope you enjoy!
Very lovely linework.
Awesome, keep at it.
DON'T CLICK THIS
evildisco - Hey thanks! I'm trying to work at better quality line work. Especially Line Weight.
Hey gang. Just a quick paint job before I get started working! I'm trying hard to learn how to paint "painterly" I guess you could call it. I've seen multiple people start a painting with the pencils, shaded and rendered, then in photoshop they greyscale paint everything, and colour over top or something? I'm trying to learn this technique, but I find it hard as heck!
Anywho, here is my first attempt;
Thought I would sneak another one in. Still trying to hack away at learning.
Hey fallas and ladies
This update is rather weak. I need to breathe some life into it! I'll be posting again later today. More life drawing and studies me thinks.
Anywho, I would love to hear from you guys! Thanks again for your time.
man, nice sketchbook. keep on updating this shnizzle. you've got some dope lines and the color work is definitely up there. keep at it!
dang man, you have a lot of work in here lol. I like this a lot. man...I'm a little speechless about now.
Hey gang. Just a quick paint thrown up here.
I really need to get better.
character - Thanks, and I appreciate the comments. Seriously, thanks for the encouragement though.
thesmokeking - Ha ha, thanks!
OldNoobie - Much appreciated, but I'm still very new at this.
Today's update is rather small. Just some drawings from K.Chen and Bridgman. The things I like most from thier work is that they break things down to the most simplest shapes. The hard part, is learning how to apply these to real things. The concepts and techniques are there, they just take some applying.
Also, still trying some things out with painting in Photoshop. Today's was a greyscale one that I read from BrokenCow. It's a great read, and I will continue to do them. The one I did was from reference, then I added a colour layer overtop of the greys.
Anyways! Until next post my friends!
Great going Jar! Nice to see you practice that Kevin Chen!
Did you see some more of his notes on Character Design.org?
I also find Gottfried Bammes anatomy book useful, thanks to a guy named Taxman.
I love the last girls eyes.
Study man, I can just see you making it big. Like canaan, butch told me he went to marvel?
You guys are awesome!
Is that a self portrait or the 40 year old virgin guy?
nah I think you ahead of me in painting .. what attempts in paiinting, both traditionally or digitally, are the ones you see in my sb
as for your last painting, the face is too angular and the sharp shadows doesn't look good on a woman's face
