Posted this in the finished section too as it took a long time but when all is said and done it is a self portrait.
wow i can tell this will be an amazing month allready,
rusty, its honest and real, with just enough of your stlye to make it your own, the light source you are using looks a little mutted, try experimenting with different light bulb temperatures and different intensities of brightness. you are looking close enough to be able to appreciate the subtle changes in color value and texture.
ive waited a long time to see how you would apply the artistic growth that your daily sp's were building up. great work. i applaud your ambition.
I moved my portait unto here. I did this after my brack up about six months ago but I never posted it, so here it is.
BLAST ON YOU!
Finished this recently in acrylics. I'm starting Ringling in the Fall (CA major)
Fire away. I have whole summer ahead of me and could definitely use some improvement.
contrary to the artist dipiction, i do brush.
these feet creep me out the most.
dried corpses smell like beef jerky
thanks for the thread start rusty. i've been slav'n all damn day. yo andrew, i met your boy carlos....seems like a cool guy. we're supposed to have lunch soon.
will spod it up this weekend for sure.
two from last month, im officially in my first real slump since starting, and these are the best things to come out of it. first is from memory.
it seems if i try anything more complicated than this it goes all to shit. this isnt a recent thing but lately i feel i make even less progress. i have no ability to render and i constantly am asking myself if its my lack of ability or am i just using the program wrong.

Jhibbs..yeah,same prob here m8,until i started just doing my own style, forgetting anything i may have picked up through artworks/artists that i admire..(like the way Jim lee draws eyes,Joe mad draws mouths/chins/hands,Gabe Pernas sculptures ,list goes on forever..)..Ive actually made huge improvements just by doing that...words from a Bruce lee doco "Unlearn what you have learned"...if that makes any sence..
sorry for the slack crits people..

I'm happy to see some of your stuff other than the sp's! You're painting style with them always reminded me of lucien freud , and with this piece it looks like you've thrown us a curve ball and changed up your style altogether. Lionel Bonaparte
