I've been struggling with it too, but try to seperate the abstract shapes into layers and paint on them with transparency locked so that you don't loose too much of the chaotic variation.
wow. Really impressive stuff. I wish this place was around when I was younger. you are geting and understanding tone, composition and stucture all the time here. It is really showing in your work.
Check my sketchbook if you're bored

5 pages a day I said ? yes, thats right, however, Im haveing a small driver problem with my dear scanner after I updated windows, I be up with 11 pages[or if I draw more, then i come up with what I have] tomorrow!
*******Just an update on my project************
Completly changed style, still same thing though
hey dile, this new SB is looking great. i really enjoy the last post, really nice shapes in there. i like the round disk shapes in the forground, really nice. you're making some nice shapes in those quick b&w paints.
very cool stuff bro
i'd still like to see ya do some more pencil work
keep at it
Speedpaints are coming along. But I thik you could do with more observed studies from life. Imagination drawing is fun but your not exactly learning much new things if its actually in your head already.
Hey whats up dile, your doing some really great stuff. I really like all those characters you posted, http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e7...ctionLarge.jpg
the quick sketch ones, I think you should try mixing up the poses a little they are all pretty much the same just standing there stiff. Still looks great though.
Hey man ,
nice, 5 a day wanna see that ;D
actually good new updates, on the monster with the red dots, i really can´t see for sure if this is the front or the back side of him but i think it´s the front, it´s seems the body especially in the head view is lost a bit into the background so more work on this would be nice also on the red dot´s, you can make more values in it and not only one red color also try to let the color flow into the body so it won´t look like that the dots only stuck on it.
what i like the most on this one is the outdoor environment you improved there ! good!
The last speed paint is much clearer nice new style,
i see you tried to put some highlights on the rope and the environment but without really looking where the light is coming from or? also more variations on the red especially when it goes to be more lighten, would pop up some parts of the ship and the enviroment ,
keep up dile and i wanna see the alien head also back
So work well , i hope the crits helps you ;D
well looky here, someones been doing their homework, scary improvement!
Very good updates. The colors are looking good.
Maybe you might want to add a focal point on that last one =)
And show us some more life drawings !! The one you posted earlier looks nice.
aww.. all this makes me want to launch the danielc.exe program
Hey Man, just wanna say your stuff is awesome. Keep at it dude!
Whos God?!?.....'God... well you know when you really wish for something?'...yeh??.. 'He is the guy that ignores you.'!
is the Elixer..
Damn, love your black and whites and you're latest sketch, awesome job man, I can't wait for more
Oh, and I thought I would give you something as a thanks to the pleasure you gave me with these latest sketches, so... well, here you go:

Hi Dile. looking good so far, I really like the last painting of the craft, it has a good sense of mass and scale to it. I also like the drawing from the kitchen, nicely observed.
My advice is simple, draw, draw, draw. Try alternating between one drawing from life, one from imagination, one from life, one from imagination etc. draw something everyday and you'll learn quickly.
Great progress Dile. Especially with the vehicles.
WOW DUDE YOUR INSANE! lol im 14 as well .im not that good but im pretty good.....check them out sometime.im about to post some
one crit. quit being so dang good lol
Wow check out these last two, awesome
Ryan: Thanks man! To be hounest I havent touched my wacom nearly
as much as usually, I guess I have understand now that the fundamentals
are sooo important, and sure they can be build up in digital aswell, but I
prefer doing it with pencils, just to mix it up Thanks!
Bendragon: I think your right, should do more from life from now and on! Thanks!
Mr-Joe: I only did focus on the design, I never acctually tried get something
to look dynamic
Darktwin: dude, thanks alot man!
Justin Oaksford: haha, thanks!
Kresh: yeah, my school teachers doesnt like it though, that I draw more

Lohan: Glad to hear that sir! THanks!
Justin: haha, yeah, I probably got more then 25 drawings, Just gonna get my school-sketchbook
and get those up, (My handicraft-teacher wanted to see what I had done, so I bringed my "real"
skethbook to school, and now I aint getting it back til' monday ohwell, its weekend

Skurai : Haha, thanks man! Nice drawing *damnit you hijacking my
thread with such a nice piece! * just kidding! thanks man!
EAD : I like that, "draw draw draw" or, another one
"Practise Practise Practise" Love those! and blanq came up
with another row for me yesterday "Puddnhead draws 15 hours everyday, so draw you lazy bastard"
All these are great to get drawing, and for getting better *motivation is always needed*
However, I have to thank you for your kind words man! Thanks!
Darktwin: Uhm , the last piece posted was from skurai, if thats what you where pointing at
otherwise, thanks man! again

Highschoolartist : ehhhrr, "highschoolartist" and your 14 ? Cool, thanks for your comment!
Ragathol: Thanks man!
Silverstri99: Visit meatswhorthy's sketchbook, he explains it pretty well, I used a similair technique, I just used
a different brush with almost the same settings though to come up with something abstract, worked well I guess
Im posting 12 pictures for now, sorry people, gonna try to get the rest up soon!
as explained for pixel dragon I took my sketchbook to school, for a teacher to look into, havent got it back yet Posting what I have
impressive improvement going on around here recently.I like the vehicle/spaceship designs a lot, you seem much more confident these days.I see you're practicing your weak point, anatomy, too, but if you really want to improve you should work on it even more
guess there no need to tell ya, but, keep it up!
like the 2120 fireman and the space ship rocks so when you say five pages a day you mean you will post five pages or you will just create five a day...???
Damn your a popular mofo, you get a ton more replies than the pros even
ANyway, in the last batch, for ships and stuff, stick to pen and copics, You get a helluva better look than pencil.
Im seeing lots of problems with your anatomy, you should look out for the neck andtop of the torso. I see youve got bridgeman, use it a ton and do hundreds of studies, It is garuanteed to work!
remember what I told ya, FILL THE PAGE
Right to the end, then be happy that its full
I could give a ton more on pencil, but keep going and youll learn and improve anyways!
Some really nice stuff in here. I particularly like the flying bot on page 1 and the set of figure thumbs on page 2. Really nice. Keep at it.
