Modest Mouse is pure gold.
--Wait, whut? --
I liked this song originally for the funky dancing in the video.
Then the song grew on me.

thats sad about MCA
Liam howlett from the Prodigy's amazing original demo tape
ive listened to this ten times in a row before, and will again. its a journey accross a landscape of sound which then dives under the sea of sound and finally winds up in the core of the planet of sound or something. whatever

I hate when I find a song completely by chance and enjoy it, then find out it's actually really popular and was on GLEE. It's a good song! Why do I have to like things that GLEE uses?
"Astronomy offers an aesthetic indulgence not duplicated in any other field. This is not an academic or hypothetical attraction and should require no apologies, for the beauty to be found in the skies has been universally appreciated for unrecorded centuries."
good choice sir. do you likre Autechre? im a sad AE fan and this reminds me of their old ambient songs.
if you aren't familiar with plastikman, you can't really go wrong with his work, all his records are great, but "musik", "recycled plastik" ep and "artifakts" are my favourites.
here's some highlights (i'm certain an autechre nerd such as yourself will enjoy this, it's just way more dancable than ae)
something for a nice sunny day such as today
As a matter of fact Im a big Ritchie Hortin fan, I like all that kind of music. And I love a driving bouncy house beat. Or a relentless 3hour minimal mix, either working or in a field off my tit on pills..
I do love crunchy autechre though; CapIV off gantz graf is so lovely i think, delicately brutal, or brutally delicate, or something.. Actually oversteps one of their recent albums is very reminiscent of tri repetae..
heres the whole album, its one of those stick it on in the background ones, but i really enjoy it.. some of it sounds like japanese shoguns and samurais, some like space mozart, i enjoy it..
and one of my faves off the album, which needs some really filthy verses spat accross it i think.. try not to smile when the slow hand clap comes in..
Another great(ly) nerdish obsession is acid. I. Love. Acid. Acid. Acid.
Since BatALSdr's removal from youtube theres a lot of dead IDM links out there, but if you dig theres millions of great tracks still thank fuck,

the eurovision song contest, amazing as always. highlights so far:
-from montenegro, history's worst rapper dressed as the grim reaper
-a half-nude greek lady dancing with a giant clam in the background
-a moonwalking romanian with a bagpipe
-a song about cyber relationships with awful 80s beats, kinda like kraftwerk's computer love except totally terrible in every way. also a glitter laptop
-russian party babushkas with spinning ovens behind them
not sure if i can make it to the end sober

I always finf that the very few likeable songs from this sort of alternative hipster-ish sort of musicians more often than not end up being like that, just a one time thing and i end up not really caring for anything else by the same person.
the album i´m currently listening to:
Everything is permitted
:3 You know those bands that you just absolutely fucking hate at first but the more you listen to them the more immersed you become?
Also, Castlevania... It's been years since I've played SotN and I still can't get this theme out of my head and I think I'd be insane to want it to leave.
