Thanks Res01ve will check that book put in amazon looks interesting. I have a few art books but i never really read them prefer to be drawing. Think i should start to make some time for them.
This started as a quick throw away pic that turned out to take ages as i was not happy with it. I did not manage to fix it. I think the problem lay at the start as i did not have a clear idea if i wanted it cartoony or realistic so disaster. Anyway it is all wonky.

The painting a day project - whoa. Some of those are exceptional, you're at a point where you're starting to break the boundaries right within your reach. I've noticed the progression since the early DSG days to now, and I must say, fulfullment has arrived. Those are all book covers in the making.
Thanks Smoke and Vulgar for dropping in.
The paintings one a day was unreslistic. Life dictates the pace.
C.O.W. - #121: Arctic Dinosaur
DSG 1398: Fantasy • WHILST BATTLING THE MONSTER, THE OLD WIZARD USES THE WRONG SPELL
I should finish this one up.
The artic dinos piece turned out real nice, the fur looks great.
I'd like to see that last one finished, but it's kind of interesting to see your roughs too.
Had To reformat my P.C and deleted my external hard drive in the process. I lost everything all my old pics. Work has been real busy as well. I have not touched a pencil since well the last post. One month you would not think that would make you rusty. But here is the quick pics i squeezed in last week.
DSG 1407: Sci-Fi • INSECT-LIKE ROBOT HAS BOTH MECHANICAL + ORGANIC LOOKING COMPONENTS
A cropped piece from another pic that did not work out.

Some Pencil pics from Ref.
Thanks epicnoses.I don't do any pencil sketches for the photoshop stuff. But going to start a sketchpad after my holidays. I get tired at looking at a computer screen.

Thanks pijus, epicnoses and Vulgar` for checking in and leaving comments much appreciated.
Your right epicnoses I forgot to add the bits falling off him. Give me five mins and i will have that fixed.
This was for the Character of the week. But i started it on the deadline so very unfinished.
Wow, great stuff. Keep up the good work. I'm loving the spider man stuff. And the actual paintings are great.
Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.
Thanks jagmed and WickedEdges for comments dropping in.
Been having real difficulty in the last two months trying to draw, Mental block or Winter weather, i don't Know. But i have been forcing myself to draw.
None of these i am real happy with but i think i am getting back on track.
Two pencil sketches from ref.
Two daily draw offs
LARGE, GREENISH-GLOWING, TECH-WELL CONTRASTS W/ SURROUNDING ENVIRO
This is cropped the original looked terrible so i just kept the upper half of the pic.
DSG 1427: Sci-Fi Character • 10-YR. OLD GIRL ON HER LOW-ALTITUDE SCOOTER
She looks very odd i wish i had spend a bit more time making sure she looked right before i finished it off.
Thanks for checking in jagmed and pijus
Two black and white pics
First one the bike is terrible and the wheels look cranky. I probably should try and fix it. Should have spend more time on the rough.
This one is not finished. But too bored with it to finish.
This was for the daily sketch group. Very loose and sketchy.

Something strange about your drawings and paintings, Mitze. You're quite competent, as I'm sure you know, but as soon as you decide to draw just a person your skills seem to drop a few notches. Now, I could just assume that your knowledge of anatomy isn't quite on a par with the rest of your drawing skills, but as soon as you add a slightly more elaborate background everything seems to be fine. What's going on?
The hyperbolized perspective biker has some great energy!
Go with that :.
Thanks rubicante. the people looking better with slightly more elaborate background probably is because i spend more time on them. I am very poor doing studies. More fun just painting straight off. But for improvements sake i should really put some time aside for them.
Thanks pijus I have been trying to loosen up for the last 3 years but i don't think it is in me.
DSG 1432: Sci-Fi • ODD HOVER-BOT HAS A SOFT, ROUNDED BODY SHAPE, W/ MANY DANGLY LEGS
Photo background painted up.
DSG 1433: Sci-Fi Character • CYBER-PRINCE HAS MECHANICAL LOBES ON EITHER SIDE OF FACE
Not quite finished might go back to it.
DSG 1434: Just Ridiculous • DINO-MOUNTED WRANGLER PURSUES ALIEN BUG THROUGH PLAYLAND
with blur better i think.

Its that blue horse looking thingy that looks nothing like a bug. I take many many liberty's.
I like your characters in pencil, like this one:
keep up the good work
Oh okay, couldn't see it before because my home computer makes everything look so dark, which could mean every art piece I've ever critiqued was because I couldn't completely see it.
Thanks for dropping in TheGnoll
DSG 1439: Seasonal/Lovecraftian • CTHULHU STANDS IN FOR SANTA CLAUS
Was thinking of Dr Zoidberg.
I got rid of the Santa hat.
