Deviantart do allow hotlinking nowadays, so there's no trouble uploading pics there.

I guess my thread was removed due to this. :c
This thread hasn't been removed, was there another one?

Ok, I posted a reply there. Thanks!
Ahahaha...oooh crud. Good to know.
* uploads everything to flickr *
Photobucket and Image Shack good, but they do have the problem that, Photobucket apparently deletes all images over two years old, and I found through experience that Image Shack will just randomly delete images, regardless of age.
i'm quite new here so sorry that i dont understand this.so what is direct linking?is it when you upload an image straight from your computer?
just some quick input, ive had life drawings flagged and removed from my photobucket account due to its terms, so it might not be the best option and im kinda upset by them but its their site, their rules.
Second thought is Ive hotlinked from deviantart and checked another computer (without the image in its cache) and its shown up, and I post on one other art forum and they see the posts from deviantart as well. I could be wrong because i know in the past hotlinking was blocked, but maybe theyve updated. *shrugs*
I use photobucket, any chance of having a bulk uploader enhancement here?
And perhaps setting a default category that is the most common, most likely pic category, then you can just change categories and subcategories should they differ. That could save time.
I usually download images of my art straight from my own computer anyway.
I couldn't figure out why my deviantart URL wasn't working here? I guess photobucket is the best option thx for info
I would suggest imgur.com
What I like about them is they are clean, streamlined and not full of BS in terms of layout and such or advertising (excessive) and when you select an image it will give you about 8 different ways to link to the image in a popup. very handy!
oh it also allows for public/private galleries
It's just so irritating that some sites go to all the trouble to block external references. In my opinion, they're just shooting themselves in the foot, because each time someone linked back to their site to embed an image, they'd get credit with Google for the link and it would help them rank better in the Google search results. FOOLS....
To be honest I like the idea of DA being unable to image link here. I have no doubt it filters a lot of DA-ites with attention spans too short to figure out where their respective kawaii links went.
CRITIQUE AS YOU WOULD BE CRITIQUED
THE ABOVE LINK IS ALL YOU NEED
