Here are the final images for the Creature Design Process 101 activity.
The assignment was to design a creature called a "waterlope" (part antelope, part amphibian/fish) for a hypothetical game design.
You can see the whole process in this thread here.
I'm really proud of all the work you guys put in.
You did a great job and turned in some wonderful images.
Congrats to all--you should all be proud of yourselves.
Thanks to Mike for starting this, and thanks to everyone for participating.

i've been browsing this activity sporadically, and want to say how solidly professional all the finals look -- beautiful work by everyone, and huge kudos to Mike and Emily for their efforts, too. everyone just hit this one right out of the park!

great outcome, guys and gals.
props to mike and emily for organising this.
i remember there was something like this here on conceptartdesign.org.Originally Posted by MIKECORRIEROThanks guys,
Jakkas@- I couldn't say right now, but if there is, I will make an announcement however there was a list of people who already signed up for a "possible" second round as well as a third.
Something else is in the works as a possibility for the weeklies, which will make them MUCH more interesting and will make people really want to participate. So although I would love to do a second version of this design process, I'm not sure if I'll have the time.
Every week or two weeks a new step in the process too although a bit faster.
First a character, then a creature, then environment,.... always had to go together with your original story
Don't really remember so well, though. CAD.org has been dead for a long time now and they also deleted the archives unfortunately... (url doesn't work no more anyways)
Fantastic work guys, it looks like everyone really outdid themselves on this one.
Thx for answer Mike. I will wait....and for now i make something like yours "waterlope" for C.O.W#33.Originally Posted by MIKECORRIEROJakkas@- I couldn't say right now, but if there is, I will make an announcement however there was a list of people who already signed up for a "possible" second round as well as a third.
great job everyon...participants and instructors...!!!
I have a suggestion for the next round (or maybe for this round also):
I think it would be really great to read the concepts of each entry, though the topic for the creature was the same every artist has a different approach and different view on the interpretation and design...
Maybe if not concept, some thoughts of the artists about their entries would be a nice addition to the whole thing...and actually would complete the idea of CONCEPTart...
