Oh man...it's been way too long since I visited your little corner of the web. Epic update, flawless storytelling.
comic's pages are great. One question, I did comic's school too, why don't you leave the black zones just marked and not all drawed? This thinking a future ink phase. I know pnecil pages are more "finished" in this way but it slow the making process and a pencil comic page is just the phase on, isn't it? Anyway... great great work!
Hey man! The comic pages look grat ... and look like a hell lot of time you spent on it. Well done!
thanks everyone for the comments!
i'm leaving for the UK and will be staying there for the next two weeks, so no update till then.
I hope to be back with a replies, a decent batch of sketches (and bacon) to share (not the bacon, no way i'm going to share that goodness)
Love your comic art. Great stuff.
Hey that latest digital portrait is better, keep at it!

The comic book blew me away. very inspiring. wish I was going to the UK =D. Thanks for the inspiration.
Awesome comics ~ & thanks for pulling me up from the gutter!
Actually really cool to see the progress you have done the last two years, maybe my absence was worth it
SB. p31 updated 25.04.2012.
cool comics, i cant read it but i do understand the story,
a dude is being caught fucking the kings daughter. as a punishment he has to do this suicide quest to kill zombies in an ancient dungeon. after an epic journey, he finds the dungeon, and there is a big statue. then zombies come to eat his brain and eventually he walks out of the dungeon, but actually its not him but a zombie that has taken the clothes of the hero.
am i right?
good stuff man its really incredible..
a dude is beign caught fucking the kings daughter, the king send he will not execute him and allow him to marry his daughter if he get a *insert weird relic name here, possibly with a couple of "k" and at least one "y"*.
After an epic journey he reaches the forbidden temple, and eventually finds out the relic has been missing for a long time (it was kept right there, in the alcove between the statues legs), so the king just tricked him to get him away for some time and possibly having him die too.
Zombies come out and eat his brain.
He comes out as a zombie (actually a "revenant") and is on his journet back to the king and his daughter, this time forced by new desires, revenge and hunger.
Deep shit huh
Will post again soon, back in a couple of days!
Yeah, post some more stuff! You know you want to ...
@Chromosome: thanks man, i love your work!
@Dan Valkar: glad to hear that, and thanks for stopping here often! hope the next ones will be better
@wookiedabo: thanks man! great to see the face behind the sketches in oxford i think the problem in the hands (and in all the rest of that kinda of mistakes) is that for some kind of reason progressing from layout to finished pencils i loose looseness and form quite a lot.I'll have to work on that on the next pages!
@walnut:thanks man, glad you liked 'em!
@Alexandr Pascenko: <==3
@MonkeYoakum: haha thanks! glad to see you stop by

@Jakers: thank you, very glad to hear that! err yeah, lots of practice i guess.No direct reference tho, just some preliminary rought studies from temples (indian,jain,tibet temples), mountains, horses and stuff i don't usually draw.
@maxetormer: thanks man, was hoping someone would say that
@Carnifex: haha thanks! hey, wait a second...i love conan the barbarian

@FAST ART: haha man! i love your work! some reference was indeed needed, but never used "directly" yep
@monstertree: thank you! jee i hope i'll stop hearing that someday, gotta work more on then bloody digitals!
@Pigeonkill: thanks you! i guess i could say that was EXACTLY the statue look i was looking for but...nope :/ guess its because there's no real local colors, just colored lights.
@courtyard:"epic"? haha! thanks you very much!
@anjin: grazie! i "filled in" the black on the pencils because i am actually not going to work more on them, we just had to submit finished, inkable pencils, so since we didn't ink them i just thought it would make 'em look a bit better.If i was to ink em, i woudn't have filled them in
@Pascallo: he he yep, quite a bit of time, glad it shows thanks!

had a great time with my gf in the UK, met plenty of cool ca people over there, and all the museum/aquarium/zoo/comicbookstores were really really inspiring, i just wish i had done more sketches!
I forgot to bring back some bacon, that sucks :/
hope the next update won't take too long!
first stop, the aquarium.It was too crowded to sketch inside, so i just doodles some fish inspired creatures instead
then, animal sketches from the London Zoo.
random sketches from the oxford meet, at nandos and at the museum
some digi this.suggestions much appreciated (obviously still WIP)
ora ora these zoo sketches are awesome! really catching the figures !
the first creature is really hypnotic, would like to some some chras in that style with the black bg maybe?

Your animals are so sexy
Oh, snap! Powerful update, man. With every post, your technique gets bolder and more confident, your designs get more attractive and unique, and your sense of expression gets more refined.
I'm totally lovin' those fish creatures, particularly the first one. Great design, and great sense of mass and space. Your zoo sketches are strong as well. Have you, by any chance, studied Joe Weatherly's animal drawing book? Your linework and construction reminds me strongly of his.
the composition in your comics is getting really good
while your drawing gets better and better, I don't see much thought to light and form... It really limits when you go to do more rendered things from imagination. Maybe it's just do to the nature of doing the comics, but I think you can still push the lighting.
@Tom van der Linden:thanks!
@Alexandr Pascenko: thanks man! i'll have to do some more charas soon, maybe black bg yeah!
@walnut: glad to hear that!
@Moai:thanks man! grabbed your contact, hit me up whenever! thanks for the nice words, and no, i had never seen Joe Weatherly's work before, and i'm loving it!
@Bendragon:thanks man, same here!
@Texahol: thanks! i hope i could use that as an excuse but comics don't have these kinds of reproduction issues anymore, so yeah, my bad, i've definately been lazy on that side :/
Mini Senile Cthulhu, cause cthulhu is cool.
More updates soon i hope
oh wow, missed a few updates.
I really enjoy your comic pages, man, that story on the last page is damn good.
and the new fishmen portraits are great (haha I love fishmen..)
and keep working on that digi portrait, I want to see more of that.
Just make sure that you establish your lightsource properly before getting into tighter rendering. So far it looks a bit indecisive between frontal and lightning slightly from the right side.
But that might be because you haven't used the whole valuerange yet i.e. the very light highlights.
Little thing that might help you, remember that the skin should be really light next to a castshadow like the one of the nose, so his upperlip could be quite a bit brighter.
haha lots of talkie for small crits like this.
edit: oh another update already? you're on fire, mate, haha. really nice to see your process here.
