Wonderful paintings man!!! Your understanding of the light amazes me.
Keep up the good work!
awesome once again, m@!
love the mask design!
hehe...you do love hexagons, right? :-) They appear in almost every painting of yours...
seriously,, man... these last few updates have been somethin' else.. dope....Originally Posted by bumskee

m@, really cool updates you´ve got here!
the digi pencil sketches are really beautiful (pilot design rocks) - do you make them so clear by continualy erasing and redrawing or use second final layer over "scribble"??
damn you have gained a lot of lighting knowledge (esp. the last piece stating this fact clearly)
Ill stop the chorus and bite you a bit now (good critique do not hurt)
as someone said before you should do some more figure drawing studies - your character "acting" is imho the weakest part of your otherwise beautiful renderings (the jungle pic is the right example of this)
anyway cool stuff and progress bro
keep feeding us with so delicious food
Flaskpost : thanks man
lefran : thank you
bumskee: hehe, yeah! I take that as a big compliment
Main Loop : thanks man! glad you enjoy.
redehlert : thanks. Tried to go easy on speculars... I sort of get carried away with those usually. Maybe I could have added a little more though.
EDIT : Libor : we posted at the same time .. yeah you're right , I definitely gotta work on that! especially on speed paints (which 95% of the time are completely semi automatic doodles with no planning whatsoever..), I don't take enough time to build my characters!
About the line stuff : yeah that's kinda it.. I do a very rough.. then a bit less rough.. and the final over that .. not erasing though, using layers.
A little one, 30 minutes. Phew, a good day today

I absolutely love those huge blocky shapes you used for the last update. Very impressive.
btw, there are some times when you use a beehive texture(at least thats what it looks like to me). Is that a custom brush that you paint with or some texture below the image, or are you physically going in to render every little hexagon.
Can't wait to see more!
There is nothing wrong with using a photo to help you see things.
No one complains about life drawing,
so take a photo.
its easy, and will improve your piece greatly."
lol i only looked at the 1st page i didnt realise there was more until just now
blonde moment there lol ^_^
i love your backgrounds even though they may be quick theyre still so detailed! ive never tried speed painting but im certain that i could never do that and never do it that quickly!!
I.was.ink : thanks! glad you like. And yeah those hexagons are ~usually custom brushes.. I do some by hand if needed.
Erilaz : thanks Martin I'm concept artist, lead 3D modeler and do quite everything but animating in 3D production
lefran : hehe, new to forums ? that's how you learn thanks anyway!
Matt Smith : thanks
Idiot Apathy : thank you. I started with a gradient that turned out as a cloudy sky..; Didn't know where I was going. Then I told myself :
"hey, that could be cool riders in a long grassy field!
-but you can't draw horses!
-that'll be donkeys.
how do u pump in thos textures? Do u use a texture brush or do u have a set of grunge brushes? are u using layers or is it just all done flat?
im luving ur stuff man, keep it comin. thnx.

great thread, I really enjoy seeing how you suggest things without actually rendering them out, works really well.
amazing, you make it look so easy- beautiful
"lunch time speedie" how long are your lunch breaks?
Beautiful work, man. Again, I gotta reiterate the texture question. How do you get the background grunge, or the paint splatters like in the upper left of your riders picture?

hey you got some sweet stuff.
The roadside.jpg I would crop a little on the bottom about just below the light "part" to suit my own compositonal taste and then frame it and hang it on my wall.
My sketchbook flawed to the max page 5
Ps:Hope you understand my English.
Remember my advices taste best with a grain of salt.
OBX : thanks. I tend to not use textured brushed much . It's more like a mix of grunge brushes. I usually work with many layers.
cotron : thanks, glad you like. Yeah that's definitely a thing I try to do, beeing able to suggest things to the viewer rather than imposing it.
the3rdforth : hey thanks this day I ate a sandwich :p that made 1h30!
Sakaliu : xie xie ni~
sandworm : what I said to OBX. And those splatters come from photos. I put that splatters in black and white as my brush, and then all kind of tweaking of the custom brushes parameters.. Angle variation, opacity on pencil pressure, etc...
Mindflaw : thanks!!
A better explanation of the step by step :
great...an very neat..
