Qxzi Hey! Thanks for the really kind words dude. I'm trying to learn to use the oils, but the stuff i've done so far is so embarassing, i won't post them here for some time Glad you liked the stuff i posted.
here is a random speedy i did, dunno about this one...

You are still lacking a good ligth and dark division,
try doing some selfportait pratice at night with a very
VERY strong light, but use only one and on a very dark
room so that you can get the idea of light and dark;
remeber that hands have bones in the inside
other than that I really like the concepts you pull out lately
I really like how you are developing, your desing sence is real good!!
alltough it seems as if you're sometimes hasting a bit with the anatomy your rendering is pretty damn sweet, good job!
Keep posting, I will definitily keep watching!
Your recent digital speedies have been really good, I can't wait to see batman when he's done.
Sometimes you do have very low contrast. Maxetormer seems to have a good suggestion.
Can't wait to see what's next!
Stuff's lookin' great Ink! I especially love your ink sketches. The bird ones are awesome, bro. I'd love to see more of that inky goodness. The digitals are getting better and better as well. Just continue to push those values and contrasts. That goes for your pencils too. A lot of the time they seem kind of washed out. Give us some dark cast shadows and than some really light areas to draw our eyes around. You have to have the basics of lighting understood to really render something realistically. You're getting there. You just need to continue to push the contrast. It's key. Great work as always, man. Lookin' forward to more. Sorry I haven't been around more often. Take it easy.
Zebzfree hi! the points you made are really valid, the washed out look is a testament of my retardness, i used to blend the pencils like a madman with my blender. Now i try to build my values more carefully. Thanks again for pointing that out, it helped a lot.
Staylor thanks for the encouragement. The batman pic won third place in a contest. I got Superman dogtags and a comic out of it Sweet deal.
Tigermilk Thanks! i hope i won't dissapoint you with further updates
maxetormer Thanks for the awesome crit. The washed out look is a really stupid habit i have as i explained earlier. The contrast and light is something i will have to look into. Hard. Thanks again for the kind words and good advice!
EdgetsHey! Thanks for stopping by. You are the first to recognize the Urkki You get a cookie. I was born in ´81 so i was 1 year old when he bit the dust.
Flaskpost Thanks man! you make me blush
Here is the stuff i've been upto lately most of the stuff i drew last week is kinda crap, so i'll post the ones that look decent. First some Finnish golden age artist studies. The names of the original artists are written in the picture
Some fruits from life
Very good work in general, just a few pointers -
When you outline areas, you don't have to keep the pencil All the way on the paper, you can cut the line at some point (when light hits the surface, for example). The mind of the viewer will connect these lines automatically. I recommend studying the line usage, it really makes things easier. That's how I think anyway =). Also keep the word contrast in yer mind. Keep up the hyvä työ! -dee
what the?? what is it? lol
cool stuff studies of other artists work and the fruit looks pretty helpful. try using one continuous line for the outline as opposed to several short, choppy ones.
i really liked this one the most, although it looks like you rushed the feet a bit.
Hey Rodrigo! Thanks for the input i tried to keep it in mind when i did theese two pictures. That and adding the contrast really helps the image to read better.
I still have lots to do, but i think this is a good step forward in a long way to go. I really want to thank all of you for giving wonderful tips to better myself, you guys kick ass!
The stupid photoshops were done out of frustration i guess i had to do something silly, and that's what came up. (btw if you look at the baby gif long enough it blinks )
Hey bro!! your images are starting to pop out of the paper,
KEEP doing what your doing cuase its working like a charm!!
Nice new stuff! Especially the fruits! And the .gifs are downright creepy.
The newest charcoal drawings are really improved too! I like the latest lady in particular.
I tought i'd drop something here. i've been super busy in the last month, i had the appication test to UIAH that took a week... I hope it went well, but i can't be sure. :/
I also moved to a new flat last week, so i don't have my scanner up and running yet, i've done some traditional pages, that i'll post as soon as i have things sorted out.
maxetormer Thanks man! i'll try to do that
Rodrigo!Thanks i'll try man, i'll try
foxoo Thanks for stopping by, and for the crits
Here is a digital speedy i did this morning, once i got my computer set up, man it feels good to draw digitally again, exept the colours turned really crappy in this one... I need to study colour theoury big time. anyone got some suggestions where to start?
Aunt May as carnage (don't ask)
turned into this
Congratulations, you have succeeded in making a horrifying psychotic alien symbiote even more horrifying. That's not easy to do.
If you want to take that picture even further you may want to make carnage/may shinier by making the shadow edges sharper and bumping the specular lights even further, but that's if you intend to work with it more.
I tought i'd put something here finally. I've been mostly doing traditional, but here is a digital piece, because my scanner is still "unavailable"
wow it's been a really long time since i updated this thread. I haven't done anything too worthwile. Also the summer has taken it's toll, and by that i mean i have been seriously slacking off. Well That said i better start posting again. Here is a digital photomanipulation+paintover i did. about 2 hrs.
Thanks for the kind words Rodrigo! and Staylor i promise to check your sbs out as soon as i'm home again. That is to say Suday the latest. All the Best.
Aunt May as Carnage... lol
Haven't been around much as of late... been busy and lacking a good internet connection but it's nice to see my sketchmates busy!! Hopefully we'll get s'more updates from you soon! The stuff from life is great, man. Max is right, they're startin' to pop!! Keep observing and drawing from life, take it all in. Make time for more anatomy studies too. You're comin' along. Keep it up!!
