Taj - Thanks, no sorry I've never played golden axe. I hear it kind of sucks, saw some nice concepts for it though. Sorry I don't really have a method, just try to choose one i think fits the attitude of the character. That or at least try to get it to sit in space properly.

CastorFiber - Thanks very much. It depends, some of its imagination some is ref and some is from life. If its something ordinary its probably ref or life, and if its a skeleton warrior or whatever its from imagination!
As for colouring greyscale, i use a combination of overlay, colour layers and straight paint.

u r just awesome
Sweet ass enviros ... specially this one... reminds me of the level with Beowulf in Killer Instinct.
Also really dug the Jason and the Argonaut/skeleton warriors.
Subscribing, dropping 5, and starting from the beginning.
Amazing progress. Did you go to the conceptart.org Atelier? I was interest in it, but they never answer basic questions like where they are located or if they are by bart.

Make a sketchbook happy, feed it a tip to improve!
....and that's a wrap.
From where you were in '06, this is incredible. Long about March of '07 your pencil skills notched up, then November of '07 your digis and everything else just jumped lightyears. And since then, you've just gotten more and more refined.
I can't imagine how many more levels of awesome you'll hit before the universe turns inside out
Man, it is so awesome to see this level of improvement! Nice work!
Really impressive man, I love the scene work. Awesome handling on your values.
Thanks guys, I appreciate all your comments.
A doodle I did tonight and a character i've been noodling in the evenings.
the mood with the guy on the rocks is really awesome. i love the shape behind him of the mts.
