this recent stuff is damn fantastic! what pencils are you using- getting awesome contrast ... keep it up!
holy shit- last one is super sweet. no refrence?
guess I never told you but your faces are really unic and shows alot of personality, wish I'd developed something like that by now.. ah shoot, you're really becoming good man.
Thanks for dropping by my SB!
Really love this one and the skull page. Your anatomy knowledge is very solid and melted well with memory drawing. hmm. I need more these kinda drills.
Whoa, nice work since I last visited! dude, you getting sooo good, hope you can get this tablet soon! Im really looking forward to something digital! and if your upcomeing digitals will look as good as your pencils, then I wont have words really.
You certainly know your way around with the anatomy. And your shading skills are to be jealous of. I especially enjoy the female drawings. I could give you five stars but won't until your sketchbook is more "solid" and also i know that there will be not enough stars to give you in the future if all are given now. Veeery nice job.
your going to paint this character right that would be interesting to see this guy in full color very good over all
Evildisco: yeah, i started other mediums. Colors will come with my tablet..in a month maximum =)
Rodrigo! Thanks alot !! Keep updating, your figures are looking very good
Hal: thank you. I'm just using an hb and a 3b =)
Tiger: thank you! nope, no ref for that guy
isair: thanks alot !!
Dile: thanks ! i don't really know the date when i'll have it, but i'll definatly work alot with it. Colours are really something i should start worrying about
Placeboast: thanks! i understand what you mean. there are still lotsa thing i must study. =)
xoet: i'd love to, i tryed painting him with a mouse, but got pissed after 10 minutes. i prefer not touching that (f-ing) mouse again :c
Here's some new stuff. Didnt' had time to finish anything. I'm just having a good time and discovering charcoal
So, some are refed and some arent.
The charcoals are, since i don't really know how it behaves, i prefer having a solid subject to work on and concentrate on the tool itself.
I still don't have a kneedable eraser, but i couldnt resist at starting working with it. Photoshop didnt really cut the halfs good. The middle is a bit shifted compared to the actual pic It kept on magnifying the two parts to the side of the "canvas", even if it didnt really followed the other part. so one of 'em is just cut in 2...:/

hey man! thanx for dropping by my book!
these are wonderful - charcoal are coming along very nicely, can't wait to see what you do when you have all the tools. And your faces are killing me! They all have the same style, but I think you could bring even more variation into them. Right now they are all just a little too similiar imho... awesome work though, thank you inspiring me man! I'm off to draw!
this --> http://conceptart.org/forums/attachm...1&d=1158935260 one is REALY cool. thanks!!
You have some amazing pencils in here! I'm jealous! It was great to peruse through the 14 pages. Keep at it!

Keep those charcoals up, feel free to smudge a bit more. although that's just the way I like it. hehe
nice fun with charcoals. Love the loose strokes on the gestures (3rd pic) alot. And like the old man in front of a perspective study. keep posting more.
Damn man, this is awefully good I'm in awe.
And good work with the charcoal, it's such a hard matrial and you work with as if you were born with it in hand.
And the antomy is stellar as always. Great to see.
And thanks for telling me to push the darks. Do you work layer on layer with the pencil?
Talk to you soon. Hugs!
My favourite of the last batch is the kneeling dude next to the orc-ish looking guy.
I wonder how many different ways I can say "you rock"
Jeez christ....... I leave for like a month and your even more ridiculous....
Amazing stuff, great light/style on just about
everything, and of course the extra smoothness you're able to achieve. OHH, and about the reference I said earlier, I was
complimenting that you have a great ability to sense light even in non-referenced pieces... sorry I wasn't clear
And I agree w/ evildisco, it would be awesome to see some color~*
D: Thanks man! It's hard to change those faces since they're how i thought they would be. But i'll try to do so =)
Blonde: haha thanks! i'll try
Oma: glad you like it =)
Darkchild: thanks, will do !
Tigermilk: hehe, i tried smudging 'em but the result is far from what i'm looking for.... Thanks anyway!!
isair: thanks !!
Pencilator: thank you And yes i wok with layers. I don't have any real steps, but i usually just shade the obviously dark areas and go further from there
Marco: thanks !!
Meats! hehe, thanks alot
joel: thank you. i understand what you meant now =) Colors will come with the tablet...which means i don't really know when...
Sorry for taking so much time to post again. But school's taking alot of my time and it's hard to get some time to draw after all those exams and stuff. Without counting all the stuff i'm doing after it.
So, the pencil is inspired from manu is malin's stuff. a,d one of the charcoal is from a painting by Mr blonde.. hehe =)
I'm also working on an sp on an a3 paper... but might take some time to finish it ;x

Wonderful drawings Dan. You're really one of the artists around here that inspires me most. My favourites in this batch is Muhu and fnomzq, but the rest all just as lovely really. The might be a proportion error on the first one (or it could be they way it scanned), but I love the way you're rendering your charcoal.
Thanx for sharing, hope to see more updates soon man (screw school lol)
Very good studies of light and shade. Something I need to do more of.
Keep it up.
i really love the updates you´re kicking nowadayz. it´s cool the see you can give your figures a very good contrast. i like the last piece you´ve drawn from ur mind most, good to see such a clear linework keep at it an go mad with it even more. some of your last figures (the bodies) reminded me somehow of michael turner i don´t know if this is supposed let meknow. .. so a only crit would ne the first piece u posted her legs seems to short to be in proportion to the body .
can´t hardly wait for the next updates
PS: with your talent i wouldn´t worrie much about school hahaha
aviable for fulltime and freelance
Recursive, you awesome ninjapowerskills you. hehe
incredible charcoals, especially the girl, great lines too.
luuuv the design and grapfical thingy you got going in the last one too.
Ahhmazing stuff man,
Cant believe the charcoals stuff. You are using like you have soing it for ages .Great Start.Cool to see you all inspired from emmanuel malin.
Great work .Keep it up.
very good stuff sir!!! i find one thing though that you do which stands out to me. almost all (not all of them) but almost all of your character's necks are hidden or drawn quickly, like your showing them or you dont want to draw them. check out Loomis' book "Heads and Hands". he explains the neck and how it's attached to the head, but if you know this already then don't hide the necks on your characters... myself, i hide lower arms (past the elbow) and other things on my characters because i still don't know them that well. must study!
still i love your renderings... keep it up!!! oh and what grade do you teach art to?
YOU ..ARE...A .... GOD...
youre awsome at the anatomical structure...... i have been searching for a good anotomical study reference but have so far come up empty handed.
could you suggest a good reference.... it would be appreciated...
did i mention
i am a awed by your work
