Ok guys, here's a fresh new WIP. All my updates will paste over the old ones in order to save space. I already started painting her skin. Currentlyly, I haven't decided what color her clothes should be (leaning toward black ) Any suggestions? As always C&C are well appreciated.

Her hips are too narrow - even if made them that way on intention, it still looks like she's missing half her hip. I do like her face, the coloring looks good. The neck may be a little too long and her breasts look - unnatural . Black doesn't suit her in my opinion - white looks neato ^^. Or maybe red?
Apart from what was already mentioned, the shoulders look too round and rubbery, the thighs are way too long compared to the lower lower leg. Nice costume though.
Her chin is too pointy.

Apart from what was mentioned...
1. I think you should make a minor adjustment to the outline of her head a bit, at the moment, the top right side of her head appears puffier than her left, and thus her head seems faintly uneven.
2. Her right arm maybe too long. The wrist should be at the level of her crotch if it hangs straight down like that.
I also think that she should be wearing black or red or a darker color. White seems like a bad color for an assasin (for one thing, blood stains stand out a lot on white). But then, she can very well wear white if she's assumng a disguise or something.
You're right, Jerry. I didn't think of that. The costume can't be a disguise because she'll be sticking out lick a sore thumb. Then again it could be good for seduction. And here I was about to give the girl a nurse cap.
I love the concept of female assassins. They have a very dear place in my heart. And (while impractical) her outfit is quite nifty.
Her pose, however, seems awkward. The way her right hand is resting on her thigh like that, I expect to see her lower body leaning over, as if she were resting her weight down on that leg, giving a cleavage shot to distract her target. Her torso standing up straight is also causing the appearance of her arm being too long; which it is, to make it go to there.
Also, that right thigh of hers seems like it ends somewhere behind her left hip; following the line, it doesn't look like it connects to her right butt cheek.
I might be just being picky, but her left lower leg (which are too short compared to the thighs, as pointed out) has a very very strong curve in it. Not just strong calf muscles giving the S-curve shape of bodies, but like she has rickets.
An a design side of it, I think a burgundy top with black leggings and burgundy /black boots would be spiffy, with lighter red trim, and maybe some red lillies or lotus blossoms embroirdered as decoration.
The only thing I have to add is that the eyes seem just a teensy bit too far apart. It could be just me but try using the lasso tool in PS and nudge them a little closer together and see how that looks.

Hello everyone. I'm back on the radar! (For awhile at least). Here is my latest update. I tried to do all the adjustments that everyone suggested. Sorry, I couldn't fix every details. I also went ahead and fixed her nose. Morrigana, I tried the color you suggested. They looked pretty good, but I found the Dark blue / white linings to be more of what I was looking for. Sorry! I also saw your web site. Great stuff! Anyways, I'll try to get more update soon and hopfully finish the girl by next week. As always CnC are welcome.
Hey guys! Sorry the update has been so slow. Here's what I have so far. I'm not really thrilled about her arm plates, though. Any suggestions to make it look better? Anyways C&C are appreciated. Thanks in advance. Noi
Lose the red. The shoulder accesories are cool, but the red doesn't suit the rest of the body. Maybe it's the blue highlights on the body that throw it off. Either way, I can't stop looking at her shoulder first.
Her face looks a little crooked. But i love the dress.
Savage man, absolutely...
If I could be so bold, where's the room for the weapons? The arm plates look nice but I think look too out of place with the rest of the costume. I'd nearly say replace that with one of those sleeves, (black or dark) with a blue flower attached to it like a corsage. Gives room for a concealed knife.
Also, but I dunno if anyone would agree, in the colour pics, her face looks too... ehhh.... innocent? I think that's the word I'm looking for.
But seriously, seriously good work. Gives myself somethin to shoot for. I ain't great at the digital, but I'll have something up here soon enough.
Wow! Thanks for all of your insights, guys.
Odiferous Welp: I'll see what I can do to the color.
ammoburger: I've been trying to make her face straight but I still can't pinpoint the problem. But I'll still try to straighten her face up.
Rising Phoenix: Thanks for the wonderful compliment, man. I would love to see what you got cooking. As for her face, well I guess I'm the kind of guy that love baby faced women. (NO I'm not a pedifile!) As for the armplates, I really wanted it to stay and work out with the rest of the costume. I may need to see the sleeves you were talking about in order for you to convince me other wise.
jubilee: thanks for noticing the ribs. I've been known to draw my characters with skinny waiste lines. I really need to fix that. Starting to feel like I'm anorexic or something.
Well thanks a bunch for the critique guys. I really appreciate them.
Something like that? You'd probably doa better job than me anyway, but there you go. That's what I was thinkin.
Hope you don't mind me going over your own image btw.
I know this was already mentioned, and this may be your style, if so, fine, but I find her legs distracting because they are sooo long. She is also extremely thin, which I also find distracting, but I know that could also be a style, like fashion drawings are often q-tip shaped ladies. However, it could also be read as not a style, but a bad grasp of anatomy...so just be aware of it. Her forearm is also very long as well, which you must have needed to do to compensate for those legs. It just looks weird cuz forearms and biceps are the same length in reality. I like the costume design though, even if it is impractical.
Thanks for all of the replies guys.
Rising Phoenix: Thats a pretty good render. The sleeves look very interesting, but that might look to formal for me.
Poohgee: Thanks for the comments, hopefully you'll get to see it on my next post.
Bad Brownie: Thanks for the critique. I've been stylizing for so long and I'm really trying to get away from it. See if this looks better.
OK Everyone. I'm almost done with the girl. Sorry for the lack of backround. Anyone knows what's the best color for her bg? I'm almost finished. Just need to decorate the boots and some minor clean ups. If anyone has any c&c, speak up now or forever hold your peace! Until I post this on the finished thread, maybe.
Due to the lack of response I guess I'm doing ok?
Anyways, here is the final version of the Assassin girl. Thank you everyone for helping me along the way. I've learned so much. Couldn't get this far with out you.
Now lets see if I can post this in the finished section without getting removed.
Hey noi, sorry I didn't respond sooner!
I like the shiny dress, and the boots too. Looks nice. Are you sure you want to keep her limbs that long? That's been my number one complaint this entire time, hasn't it? I know it'd be a pain in the ass to tackle at this point...but poop.
The painting looks fine as is, but if you really wanted to go for it, I would suggest maybe pushing the values further, particularly on the metal.
Is it still too long? I've attempt to fix it 4 times already. I just measured her, and you're right. Should have done that the first place. She's standing at 8 1/4 heads tall. I'll try to fix it again. Does anyone know whats the new standard height (head measurement wise) for a 5'9" woman? I've heard Leonardo's 8 heads is no longer the standard.
You're right about her metalic colored hanging deals, Bad Brownie. I'll find a way to make her look more "polished."
7-7 1/2 heads I believe... 7 1/2 for the more heroic "roman" classic, taller look.
This is just a suggestion, I hope it helps.
wow...I don't know WHY I used yellow...

Wait a minute. Do you have a wide-screen TV at home? I don't mean to be rude in anyway, but from what you have drawn up, looks like you are having a case of the "Wide-Screen Syndrome." I just made that name up, as I just found out the symptom from observing a friend. You looks at pictures that are distorted from the wide screen so long, it starts to play tricks on you mind, and make you accept the streched imags from the widescreen as "normal."
You maybe right about the girl having appendages too long, and I do like the extra ribcage that you put on her. Thanks for the draw over. It helps a bunch.
has it already been mentioned that shes missing a ribcage and space for a small intestine..?
lol noiion...I actually dont have a widescreen tv. And i only watch tv pretty much on the weekends....(and oh how I watch). = )
I didn't see anything too wide in my drawover, in fact, maybe you've been looking at too many super models? ; )
Anyway hope I helped at least some! Talk to you later. = )
Rad face on the drawover, Bad Brownie.
Your anatomy on the drawover is more anatomically correct. But in comics and concept art, style usually wins out over reality. Personally, I love life drawing. It's important to know realistic proportions. But in the end, most teenage boys want unattainable fantasy in their video games and comic books. It would be FREAKY if someone of stylized proportions stepped into reality, though (male or female). They'd probably be in great pain.
