Wow really nice sketchbook dude. You have improved a lot, its amazing.
Your line work is totally different then in the beginning of this sketchbook.
Keep on posting iam liking your stuff.
"FAIL, FAIL AGAIN, FAIL BETTER"
nice noses and lips! Good work on the shadows in you last post, keep it up!
You've made such good improvement, just keep drawing and you'll be fine (if you don't get addicted to harddrugs or ehmm die in a car accident or ehmm.. well.. whatever)
Hey great progress here! I really dig those hand studies. I'd love to see some more pen sketches mix in. Keep up the good work!
Hey pixel man, you got some real great stuff goin on man.
Your studies are paying off, those facial features look great.
Being just 17 (getting old ) this stuff is pretty good for your age, its easy to get complaicent but you defintly gotta keep working... especially up into college and stuff. Its easy to just stop and get lazy, and not draw enough ( what im trying to get out of doing) but im sure working alot defintly pays off...
Keep up the drawing and youll improve alot, youve already got some impressive stuff.
Wow! There some very big differences between your first page and your last page (skill wise.) Those creature designs are really neat. Those lips and nose study looks great. I think you should also do some eye studies that way. And you're just 16? I couldn't draw like this when I was your age. Keep it up, and you'll become a master in no time.
That's tha plan.
School started, no time to scan tonight... See yas...
Nice Studies <> Scan when you can
Wow !! It looks like you have gotten a -LOT- better with your sketches from the beginning of the thread !! That's awesome ! I ESPECIALLY like the nose and mouth on the last page you posted .. top right .. left ... It looks like you've created a lot of depth ! Work more !!
So.... I guess I lied!
Imageshack is being sucky D:
I'm taking the MAN (You know who)'s words to heart and drawing more and on here less... I only spent maybe a total of 20 minutes on the boards today... Maybe a little more.
By the way, my New Year's Resolution is to curse less. And that... draw more... thing...
wellwell, I can see it's going just fine here, just fine. those lips and noses are really great!
render like a slug! ,)
The lips were done on rough paper I think, because they were small, patchey, and rough. If you have The Human Figure by Vanderpoel, it's those.
On JM's orders, and my desire NOT to get banned. No posts in the lounge for a bit.
WIP "Those who walk away", personal project THis is like, 1/5th work size. The scan overtop messes up alot of the view, but the mountains and sky and clouds and stuff are coming out great so far... IMO...
I need a website, Image shack takes friggin forever to upload.
And no, I wont use photobucket. Better slightly longer upload times than drastically lower Bandwidth.
That thunderdome piece is coming along great, just dont get sloppy with the rest of the picture.
Some errors with perspective are still noticable in your faces, but those individual feature studies have really helped you and are lookin great. Keep it up.
It's nice to see the progress you're making, keep it up
Oh damn, nice updates!
Nice updates, WIP work looks good.
Upper body is really dynamic, jacket could use more twist to show the motion before the punch.
I'd touch up his expression a bit more, too. If he were really mad he would probably have more wrinkles around nose and forehead.
I didn't post the story behind it, but its like in movies where they talk before the climax, so he didn't just wind up his punch, he'd been holding that pose while teeling the other dude about justice, serving, something like that. But thats why there isn't as much motion. When you're holding the guy with one arm, you aren't really able to turn the rest of your body drastically.
It would look good either way, But the jacket took me so long I think I'll leave it as is. Thanks for the input though!
Some nice work in here Pixel. The page of noses and lips is very good, and so is the TD wip. I'd say you're on the right track with your work, but I think your rendering is holding some of your work down. The "walking away" piece for example, is pretty good, but the shading is rather weak, sometimes going towards the hurried kind of sloppy, and it lacks depth. Some of your other pics also lack depth and are very hurriedly shaded, but then again, the TD pic is way better. You've actually got the skills, but don't spend the extra minute or two on your sketches to even out the shading. Put in that time and your speedy head drawings will look much better, as they will not only be shaded, but will reap the benefits of the added depth and cleanliness.
Keep up the good work man.
Ah alright. Now that I see the story I think you need to really focus on the facial expressions and body language in the scene. His outstretched arm should be more rigid, tensed up, and I still think working around the eyes could show deeper emotion, rather than simply yelling angrily.
The figure against the wall has good body language, watch his hand, it should show how he sees the situation. If he is defensive, he would be trying to hold unto any part of the wall he can grasp, such as wall corner or something. If he is more agressive, his hand would probably be clenched in defiance.
From the sketch, looks like the angle of his head is effective, will be interested in seeing his expression in the end.
Love the loose expressive lien work. The shading gets a little heavy on some of the work that you put more time into, but damn good line work!
Keep em coming!
So I was taking what Manley said, and thinking about Massive Black, and dedication and stuff. I started the night off with this:
And I was thinkin more, and wanted to begin to dedicate myself again. I plopped in front of the bathroom mirror and threw this out:
I came in to scan my accomplishments, thought for a second...
And went back into the bathroom before I scanned them:
And all that was about 2 hours worth of mirror time I think.
Hehe. Inspiration a la SirGreenSock.

Holy Crap, huge update. Why didn't you draw something for the teen thunderdome?
Because I didn't like the topic
very nice update pix, those hands are looking pretty solid. But I must say I like your thunderdome pic tho, nice rendering.
Keep updating often.
