what the..? how the..?
i missed this!??
anyway here now, and there's some lovely stuff here, that skull drawing is sweet and the pencil figures have a great flow to them, keep up the good work, it's inspiring
sketches to die for. I should have checked your SB sooner
love the design sense in alot of these
Couple things, I feel lazy as hell for not updating this more often.
My LMSTD Round 3 entry. Went up against the art moster that is steak-tron, I'm screwed...
Original sketch for that bad boy.
Copic and ink doodle.
Saise: They all are only cool because I had great concepts to work with from eahc of them.
oishiiniku: Thanks dude, the brush pen is phenomenal. I like drawing knowing that I could fuck everything up at any moment with a careless mark, makes me concentrate a little harder.
MIKECORRIERO: Thanks bro, I'm making a concious effort to blend my illustration and design together into one defining style. We'll see how well that goes...
Flaskpost: Sure you can borrow my hands, just as long as you don't tstart touching yourself with them.
Summer Pudding: Thanks Pud', you are, as my granny would have said, "the shit."
Ni*: Much appreciated man.
scumgrinder: Felt the same way about your book when I found it... thanks for stopping by man.
Mr.Blonde: Blooooooondie! I would take that skull into color if I wasn't a lazy ass. Actually, I've been meaning to do more color studies... I'll have to get on that.
lukavi: I did that on my wayback from New York after spending the weekend atching Brom, Dan Dos Santos, Rick Berry, Justin Sweet, Manchess, and Giancola paint live for 4 hours. Needless to say it was inspiring, in fact so inspiring that I drew the prettiest princess ever. Congrats on getting your ChOW entry picked to be the postergirl for the event, it was beautiful bro.
van: You trying to get into my pants? Because it's working... thanks for the kind words man!
wow man - alot of originality here. Love your imagination
keep em' coming!
I my girlfriend & my book of sketches
Damn nice sketches Cody Man, the jury aint in on the t-dome so I wouldn't worry. I can just as easily be elimadated. My pic's got tons of problems.
That t-dome piece is looking great though man. I really like the play on the analogy and taken as a character. She looks like an old mother that has had to work tirelessly to raise her children and address problems of necessity, except with robot hands
Fucking awesome sketches throughout though man (the princess is dope!). You use that designers eye right good, fo' true, shoo-wee.
dear cody #2,
your t-dome was super slick, and your sketches ain't half bad either. if you ever feel like hoppin a plane to the gayest place on earth, you got a place to stay!
-sincerely, cody #1
Oh, strych9ine. Awesome update! Love all three pieces.
Mother of invention- a very strict mother, looks like she is not capable of any ass patting (oh, how I dislike those words ). Just hard work, work, work until you drop and after that work some more. . Very moody and beautiful painting. Despite the tough message it's a pleasure to look at it and observe all details. Colors make my mind go wandering.
Original sketch is a gem on its own. Very beautiful and involving.
And i like the last one too. Masterfully executed, very dynamic despite the pose. It has a deepness and I even hear some noises and sounds when I look at it. Pleasure to observe all those different lines, streaks, dots, texture ( in BG). this piece is breathing, you know. Well, it's flawless in my opinion.
haven't really visited this thred for some time now, but I discoverd it ones again just now.. All I can do is clap my hands and let my jaw drop. Wonderful sketches and paintings!
Please keep posting.
hey man love your work, you got a crazy style and skills
the paint jobs are great
keep em comming
I dig that T-dome pic....interesting take on a difficult topic.
That marker/ink robot sketch owns though..Do more of them shits!
I still am waiting for my internet connection at home, so I'll post a quick gesture I did for a postcard at work. Done in Illustrator...
legacy: Thanks brotha, will do...
steak-tron: Kemp my man, thanks for a hell of a dome battle man. You threw down a hell of an entry, that's fo' sho. I appreciate you stopping by right good, fo' true, shoo-wee.
Cody #1: Hell yeah man... if you're up to it, I'll ship my ass out there sometime next year for a weekend to party. I'll buy the Soju...
blankslatejoe: Thanks man, you've been making quite a showing in the dome yourself. Damn nice entries these last few rounds...
mentler: Thanks man!
sve: Always nice to see your in depth analysis in here Sveta, you really look deep into these pieces. Glad you dug 'em!
Tigermilk, BAKI, Azeira: A thank ya.
Loomer/Bruthaluva 2.0: Thanks bro... I recently rediscovered my copic markers again, I've neglected them for too long. Can't wait to see you site finished, even the splash page is fucking sweet. Love that animation...
strych9ine, I adore this sketch. One liner and so big impact on me. Heavenly feminineness.
That's why women are so popular . They're just teasing and calming and consoling and cheering and make men be at their highest spirit point ( and the lowest too).
Could you do more sketches like this, strych, i didn't see this side of yours before, and I like it very much. This sketch is striking with a sensuality.
Been a while... I've updated the content of my site quite a bit if anyone cares to take a looksie. A few logo and print designs, new art, and a bunch of sketches in the artwork section. Let me know what'cho thinking, yo.
This is the type of shit I draw during meetings at work. "We need a big marketing push, let me get that product in a more reddish-red, blah blah blah CHICKEN MAN MONSTER!"
Portrait of my girlfriend, 2 versions:
Dirtying up of the pencils for my site, not sure why but what the hell.
Couple more... I know the first one is jacked up, but I did it on the plane to Puerto Vallarta. I'm blaming my shittyness on turbulence:
sve, keegan, thanks for the love. Always nice to hear from you sve, you're too kind.
really like that last one mang, and the chicken man monster is fucking hilarious. I would doodle the same sort of shit in meetings and the people that could see would just shake their heads. you snowed in yet?
edit- nice new stuff on the site. the photo illustrations/design experiments are real nice.
I get a lot of "what the fuck is wrong with you" from co-workers, I take them as badges of honor. And yes, I'm snowed in you warm-weather-enjoyin' bastard. Did you ever get around to printing up that shirt design you did a while back?
Cody- looking groovey docious man!!!! keep things weird man... you have a nack for weirdness... you make it look cool and make me wanna be weird but, not weird like you!!! weird like me!!! anyways... hope all is well man... have a good holiday!
Mainloop- man i must be dyslexic.. cuz i thought you asked how many people are on lsd
Theorist will write books about your brain LOL
in the meeting drawing above, i have this theory that notebook paper tends to bring out the dark and the weird. can i use this image for the cover of my 500 page thesis? (just kidding) gorgeous and weirrrrrrd work! i love the warpedness. would that be twice syllables? thrice syllables? ha ha keep up the fantastic imaginative FORAY
I spent most of my holiday freetime creating this piece for my lady friend. I'm thinking about painting this bad boy this week,we'll see...
Bought a nice, gaudy frame for this. I'm happy to annouce she liked it.
Vigostar - Mah man, it's good to be weird. Happy New Year bro, hope all is well with you...
Mentler - A book has already been written for people like me, it's really been very beneficial to my development.
guggenmaneuver - Corporate meetings seem to inspire the craziest shit. Looks real good when my boss glances over my shoulder to take a look at the notes I've been concentrating so hard on. You got a great book man, it was a damn good read!
Hello, strych9ine, observing your new piece with a huge interest. hehehe. The girl looks all fed up and exhausted while all this wicked evil folks are still cheerful and full of enthusiasm . Making crazy rounds over her head. Very cute evil folks. Dog too, looks like it is on its last foot, needs a break badly and fast .
I don't know if you meant this but i see it as very funny story.
Very nicely executed too. Has a ancient time spirit all over it.
And i like your GF portrait very, very much. Especially her serious eyes and the whole calm, well composed nature, as i see it. Very personal portrait. She looks sincere, honest.
Detail of above piece:
sve: It's always a pleasure to have you around to read into each piece so deeply... thanks for stopping by. You seem to know what I was thinking during each piece better then I do.
Your level of detail is one of the best i've seen, especially on the last one, the details you putted on the higher part of the armor.
Cant wait for the next update
