I bought a Sumi ink and brush! It was fun. I really enjoy drawing with a brush.
My husband was playing Castlevania symphony of the night() so I thought what a good way to test my new medium then drawing him. Since he wouldn't be moving for a while. Then I tried drawing with only the brush on a mouse character who runs a amusement park in my wall(thought up while on the toilet! hah) and finally my signature fox character Berf. Drawn first in pencil then in the sumi ink. this method worked better for cartoons.
I really enjoy ink. It brings the best out of me because I know I can't make mistakes.
Hi there! Great start with the Sumi ink--looking forward to seeing more! Love both of the ink sketches of the accepted student day model (the guy with the guitar?), too...very different styles, but both very fun and expressive. Wish I could have been there!
Courtyard: Thanks! the guy with the guitar is actually my husband though. I always draw him while he plays music. It's when he sits still the most. The first drawing of him I tried not to lift the pen at all. The accepted student day drawing is actually the gypsy woman.
This is a painting for a friend at works bday. I had a lot of fun with the colors
Some of my cafe sketches from the past 2 days. I do them on my break at work. and then some 30 second gesture drawings using posemaniac. At first I was just kinda loosely scribbling the pose and then I read I should try to use as little number of lines as possible so that's what I tried in the last few pages.
im not a pro artist my work needs lots of improvement it self but with your figures, really try to lock in the gesture then build the figure around that. you rarely see verticals or horizontals on figures drawings that evoke an emotion out of the viewer. draw more paint less. check out these figures you dont see any verticals or horizontals in them do you? the lines flow
So I haven't updated in FOREVER!. But that is because school keeps me super busy. So here are some of the things I did last semester. (Freshman year at Ringling college of Art and Design) In no particular order.
