awesome! I love the distance and heat effect over the planes. some of his anatomy looks a little mushy. a small crit.
That is fucking dopeness!!!! Thumbs up.. im not even bothered by the anatomy issues... Overall illo is fantastic.. Great mood, sense of movement and struggle, painting is done well, I love the fact that he's not chizzled ripped rather than being more massive like a powerlifter.... the only thing that strikes a question is.. whats that tower looking thing on the bottom left hand side? it looks like something is coming out from the ground.. Excellent work overall.!
Mainloop- man i must be dyslexic.. cuz i thought you asked how many people are on lsd
blitzcrieg gobot lol. looks very nice.
God that is badass, I love the detail on the nazi robot's helmet, glass, visor thing and the dude inside.
to be honest it looks quite stunning to me, both in originality and in quality
I like how this one came out, quite ambitious and I think it works. Wish that nazi had a bit more frightened expression though.
As Lord Cardigan said to the Light Brigade, "Just canter down the valley toward Balaklava, fellows. Nothing to worry about." -W.E.B. Griffin
damn fine work!!
cool, I'm glad the image kept the promise the thread's title offered.
I think Hulk's left leg needs help, tho. If it were extended behind him you could put a little more depth into the field as well as mock the traditional Atlas pose.
I love the colors the layout and the gobot, but I am distracted by what looks like the glass filter. I like how it's supposed to be bending the light, but I think it would look better without. JMO.

it's not if you can't do it, but it's if you want to
Nice job. My only crits are I'd like to see the highlights on the Hulk's skin integrated a little better, and warmed up slightly so they go with the general light key of the picture.

Wow, love the green against the red light! Good use of compliments. I like everything except the hulk's weight might put him more firmly on the ground, especially with the Nazi's soldier on his back. His feet should probably be firmly planted, unless he's in the process of jumping. Small crit, love the lighting though.
Man this has to be one of the best drawing I've seen in days, the only thig is I dont think The Hulk was alive in wwII.

Fantastic! Your robots are the best derklot. Its good to see you back on the forum. It would be fun to see grey hulk taking down some nazis as well.
first off-my apologies for the late replies
..thanks for all the feedback..it really helps a ton when your eyes are so used to lookin at a piece for so long its hard to judge if its workin' or not...so i consider this board as well as a few others to be a good/reliable litmus test to add some creative insight...
phrozac:thanks...i'll see if i can address the mush factor you mentioned without compromising the action at all..
vigostar:thank you, glad you can look past any bizarre anatomy goin on in the pic..i tend to rediculously exaggerate proportions at times esp when dealing with a monstrosity like the hulk...i strive for action-motion and tend to squash and stretch the characters i draw in an animated/dynamic composition like a tex avery cartoon..so yeah..that right bicep isn't lookin right as compared to the tricep and the knees look a tad wonky..but that's my warped sensiblities in action.
Christian Ethics: it's badass you think it's badass ...thank you mucho!
sadly-the blood welled up in the contoured visor lost it's visual punch when i reduced it to up load in photobucket..but ahh well..thanks for the observations nonetheless! btw..that thing in the bg. is just a big piece of burning shrapnel/metal that had been ripped from a vehicle courtesy of the hulk.
lexdan90:couldn't ask for a better reaction..thanks.
Mecha Hate Chimp: again..i'm really psyched with this type of reaction..it just fuels the fire...thanks alot.
rothgar:yeah..i always like doing the expressions the most with characters..but in this case..i'd figured the nazi to be knocked out cold..thus the smashed visor and blood pourin from his battered noggin..which was actually pretty dang fun to paint i might add...hopefully hulk comes across as mildly pissed tho.thanks for the feedback!
Lohan:hah..yeah machismo!..hulks all about that shit.plus mr.T is one badass..and I PITY DA FOOL who disagrees.thanks.
**btw:this thread is B A Baracus approved.
bwkeough:thanks-glad it somewhat lived up to the title...i was struggling with the idea of having his weight shifted to counterbalance the weight of the bot-or just having his action dictate a thrashing-stomping posture..with both feet moving(ultimately what i chose)...i can totally see your point tho..thanks for the observation
WithTeeth:thanks-yeah..i like adding in some fx that help get a feel of the atmosphere..in this case a raging fire...i guess its hit or miss as with anything subjective -esp artistically..as i tend to like when things to look less computer generated as possible..but i let it slide cuz it really didnt bother me at the time.but point taken.
cheeks-74:thanks man!..i really like your rendition of the thing..fun cartoony ,slick stuff-i'll keep an eye out for more of your posts.
Elwell: nice site btw!..i like the classical way you paint-yeah it's a slippery slope adding in all of the reflective lighting as well as direct...the color of the visor looked alot more yellow in photoshop unfortunately..but i tend to use glazes so i will try to address what you mentioned with the hulk in particular.thanks for the feedback.keep up the great work.
SprayNation:thanks-yeah..i'd say to check out what i mentioned in my reply to bwkeough:"i was struggling with the idea of having his weight shifted to counterbalance the weight of the bot-or just having his action dictate a thrashing-stomping posture..with both feet moving(ultimately what i chose)"
for some reason i had imagined him in the process of shoulderpressing the bot as well as using the hulk stomp to propel upwards...hah..i cant believe i'm using comic terminology to explain myself..bahhh my apologies..point taken tho.thanks again
Neo_Zeo: thanks ....and i dunno if he was alive then either...cuz surely hitler would've been defeated earlier if that'd been the case.
rabyh:hahha raby..but the true question is if the robots are better than jersey gyros my friend! tzatziki sauce owns my soul.
aimsatellite:thanks for the kind reply..you should start posting stuff up..it'll be like back in the day at the kubert school...minus the jeering.
metroeast:thanks..i strive for drama and lighting..glad you dig it
Mort:well i dunno if he's a nazi..but i'd say he's quite emo..his hairdo is the dead giveaway...i'll be waiting for the next purple short trend to start once they realize this..warm and cool contrasts can either work or just look insanely gawdy...i hopefully walked the line with it.thanks for the feedback mort.
Great painting! Solid choice for a palette; it works wonders!
My only miniscule crit is possibly the pose of the Hulk. I might've made his feet a little more heavy and spread further apart to show HIS weight as well as the burden of the robot. He's almost tip-toeing a little bit in the pose and I'm thinking the Hulk's probably not a tip-toe sort of guy. He's the friggin' Hulk- he doesn't need to scamper about lightly! He can stomp through just about darn near anything he wants!
Also the eyes on the robot operator seem to be looking directly at us a bit and pursing his lips.
But beyond that- it's a great piece. Phenomenal work.
This is cool, the colors seem a little muddy to me
