Hey , I love the life drawings of the figures and this one s95.jpg has a very nice feeling for me.
wicked stuff, your quick figure work is really impressive
good copy. I'm wondering if you might have gotten even more out of the practice if you had done a tight drawing of the woman and then painted her in with harder edges instead of loose forms and edges of the woman, then refined it. Her cape and the rocks I can see being done this way, but seeing how you develope your own personal figures ... perhaps lined drawings transfered before the backgrounds or after the backgrounds and used to paint the picture with will help figure out Frazetta's process better?
I do like your ideas to learning here, and believe you'll keep getting better by leaps in the direction your going... keep at it man!
The Frazetta copy is very nice. I'm surprised how well you were able to match the look of traditional media. Great use of the PS brushes.
Spade-Thanks I appreciate it!
Bowlin-Thanks! I might give that a try the next chance I get to do one, or maybe I will try it out with my thunder dome piece.
Blaise-Thanks, I even surprised myself with how painted it looked, I didnt think it was going to happen as well as it did.
Here is a WIP of a piece I am working on, hopefully I will finish it and it will look decent. I have a ton of Watts stuff to post, but its been too cloudy to shoot pics, hopefully soon though.
My sketchbook flawed to the max page 5

Here is some sketches, the digital ones are painter practices so I can get back into painter. I will have some Watts stuff up alittle later today most likely, got to shoot it all.
maxetormer-Thanks, I hope you enjoy this watts update today.
Well yesterday was my last day for figure drawing this semester and I am glad it ended with me getting my best 2 hour fig drawing yet, I am really pleased with it, I got alittle help at the end of class, mainly cause I wanted feedback on it.
Very solid <> however if you squint your eyes you will see many of the dark shapes start to become holes rather than form <> this often happens when matchings values to the model <> one needs to always be aware of how dark it should be on the drawing to create the desired illusion of form without creating holes <> lighting of course becomes critical in this kind of drawing but in the end it is the drawing the is important and the illusion it conveys to the viewer.
That last one's lookin' pretty solid, Matt. Like..solid as in the forms. Dig the plane indications on that one. Although I think his mustache needs to be bigger, hehe. Don't skimp on a man's mustache!!
