Welcome. This is your first time postin huh? I like you rendering. It seems that you have a grasp on what anatomy is. thats good if your a character designer that is the most important thing to know. I myself spent a long time adding alot of motion to my drawings, doing the best i could to bring out the dynamism. I would recommend that you do the same. I usually use a very curvy line of action. this will move your drawings away from static poses. well....how old are you? your on the right path. good luck. talk to you later
i think there for i am
look at my sketchbook
Hey thanks for the welcome Magnetic, and thanks for the good advice. The static poses has been a huge problem of mine. And to answer your question about my age well we're the same age man well roughly you're about a few months older than me i'll turn 24 on June 13th. Thanks for the crit man i really appreciate it. I looked at your work and it is freakin awesome, I'll look at it closer here in a few mintues and give you a comprehensive post.
Here i'll post some more of my stuff
Twin Royal Imperial Guardsmen These guys are inspired from the Star Wars Imperial Guard, Since you never get to see much of them in the movie i thought i'd elaborate on twin characters.
The Twins again
well whadda do ya know, the twins again
evil-self portrait, I pretty much look like that and yes I have hair like that
Veesaald Warrior I am actually almost finished 3d modelling this character when it is done i'll let you guys know for sure!

Good to see you're back I was getting worried lol.
Here is some more stuff I did most of it portrait stuff but enjoy. The one thing i will say about these portraits is my eyes are atrocious. I'm going to start doing some portraits of my girlfriend to measure my progress from this point. All of the portraits are from live models except for the last one that was from the top of my head. I think i'm gonna try to do more of those.
Hey man u deffinitly defelop some great skills, i see alot of improvement from ur first to ur last post. Great to see! Realy like those rough worx nice lines, realy got that speed feeling in it. Anatomy is a bich sometimes i see u working hard on it, if i had that drive.... hehe
Keep it up!
Nice art Dude,
very cool Ideas and designs...I really like your fantasy characters!
I would recommend (If I may of course ^_^) to try to imitate Bruce Timm, not for your style, but to get the basic shapes work together.
Before you start rendering, simplify everything, then you'll know where to focus,
your drawings are really nice, but sometime just a bit off...nothing big but still..
hey who am I to talk right...hehe
Have a good one!
and keep it up!!
Jiek:: Thanks for the advice you are right my anatomy in many of my characters is a bit skewed, and i did go look at some of bruce Tims work and will start doing some roughs of his basic building block method. Your criticism is greatly appreciated thanks. I really appreciate honesty, how else will i get better!!!!
JeroArt:: Thanks man i really appreciate your comments.
Here is some new stuff i was working on most of it are portraits i'm jumping around trying to get a feel for a bit of everything.
This is a refurbished drawing of the on i did at the top of this page i wanted to see how i would draw this with my slight improved skills.
This was another Black Chalk drawing by Hans Bellmer
This was drawing i redrew from Hans Bellmer's Black Chalk drawing
mostly nose renders

Hey man nice work so far. I'd say try using graphite instead of charcoal for a while with those portraits, and learn to control line weight because the lines you use to outline the profiles of the faces are way too dark. It's all about building up the shapes with really light lines first so you aren't stuck with really dark lines that you wanna move later on.
wow man, so much improvement in this sketchbook. good stuff! i like your life studies, keep em up.
by the way, thanks for checking out my sb
wow, you've really got some great stuff here! especially the last ones, and that goblin one is freakin sweet!
"Tears will drown in the wake of delight"
thanks for the encouragement,
your stuff is very raw and creative,
Yes, definately move on to some other than the profile views. They are hardly very useful because they don't describe the form all too well and are quite rare to happen in daily life (I spent a day observing if I would see a face at a full profile... didn't happen once! The heads were always turned at least just a bit from a full profile.) and so, I find, look a bit strange in drawings.
Not saying that profiles shouldn't be studied at all, just that other views are usually more interesting.
Here some stuff i've been sketching lately i've been drawing i'm pretty damn lazy about posting but everyone here inspires me to draw and post. I'm gonna do a better job about being apart of the community. So to everyone who checks out my sketchbook thanks.
crappy self portrait
A better self portrait i like this one a bit better
I'm not sure what this is i was just doodling elf noble and a face of some sort
a couple of heads i need to practice more of everything but right now i like drawing heads for some reason. I guess we all go through phases.
Experimenting with random stuff this is some victorian stuff, i'm actually doing a sketchbook project for one of my classes this is one of the themes i will use.
This is some more practice with heads i'm trying to create a bit of realism in some of my drawings. Its supposed to look like me in all honesty it doesn't but this was fun drawing.
really really great update, I really see much improvement with this update, strong lines, features in the face, my favorite is the last one of the sad soldier, really nice how you captured the facial expression. the face of the chick is nice also. Her eyes are really speaking something. Keep em coming bro.
Big improvement in the recent stuff. You discovered eyelids in there somewhere. The no eyelids thing is a very common phase to go through, but they add tremendous character to the face.
Gilead Artist on Facebook and Twitter
Gilead:: Thanks for your comments they are great for my motivation, i'm really trying to get more consistent i'm actually in the middle of changing my curriculum around more drawing.
Darktwin:: Dear brother, thanks for your comments as always, see you on the flip side.
Here are a few recent drawings of a friend of mine and General Hienz Guderian of the eastern front. For those of you who don't know he was the first man to take lighting armoured warfare from theory to practice.
I'm not there yet but i'm getting closer, Head drawing is hard as hell!!!!
hi there! great sketchbook you have! my favourites are the torso drawing you're using as your avatar and the hand drawing. really impressive! and your portraits are coming along great. amazing, how much progress can be seen here. only one thing i noticed (in your older drawings, not so much in the latest ones) is the position of the ear. seems like you tend to place it too low (just like i'm doing, maybe that's why i recognized it...). amazing work!
Hi Ashrumm SSG buddy here checkin out your SB. I'm impresed with how much you are improving especially when you started to draw more from life & refference, that's they way to go man. Just as I suggested to Ivan R. make studies of skeletons, human and animals. Better go get some of my own sketching done now, see ya.
