I hope to entertain some of you with my various mechanical designs and character concepts....
also in the somewhat laughably nobel attempt to learn a new trick on how to color digitally...hone my anatomy, and otherwise improve my "skills"
well lets kick this pig

NIce design and pretty good ink work.
The colored one is turning out nice, something about the front feet looks a bit strange - it works better on the b&w - maybe the leg is slightly too short, but the pose is cool.
Keep em coming
Hey man, nice to see you somewhere other than that pit called Gaia. I've already seen this stuff of course, so yeah, but Welcome!
good stuff, maybe lighten up on the ink a little bit but yeah good work
Keep on cruisen
Boon: thanks! I shall try
spiffster_x: I keep the anime-ish taint out of personal preference man....but yeah them peeps need work...the drawback for doing mechanical design for six years staight and nothing else.....but thanks for stopping by ^^
2000YearsOldMan:Thanks...I'm glad you think so ^^
I've dubbed him Bill for the moment
what is he.....
well for the most part...he's a eclectic mix of metal, oil and flesh.....fused together by ruinous black powers....to create a nigh unstopable hulk of a killing machine....elite in persona but heavy support in firepower....
Bill and his bretheren are veterans of countless battles....and it shows...since they have survived long enough to be warped completely by the black energy that surrounds them....fusing steel flesh and weapon together into one.....big mass....
Mentler....who I seemed to miss last post:heh....thanks : D
That Fat kid: thanks...I'm glad you think so....
and for to days sketch...
a ridiculously impossible pose...to me anyways...and my guts telling me that its impossible....but something of this sketch piqued my interest
mostly flow wise though
wow, these last 2 concepts are killer! they really show a lot of improvement as far as showing the volume and depth of the form as well as branching out from your usual designs and going for something w/ more influence/research in it!
keep it up

Crit for a Crit: My Online Sketchbook of Super Power Fun
ApolloNuevo: thanks man....and yeah..I think I need to veer away from the "black" aligned berzerker types....and black aligned concepts in general for a spell....and go thing of something else...
new sketch....a Battlemage....slightly techy...but lets say the mage is a artificer as well
You've got a lot of really great concepts and ideas in here, man! I can see you're workin' hard to create this stuff too. The character/creature stuff is the strongest. Keep workin' on it! The main thing I'd really crit is how stif and stagnate some of the images are. Plus their all pretty cartoony and where I think that's ok for a style thing it might help the style overall if you did some more life drawing/studies. Some anatomy/proportion stuff wouldn't hurt either. Overall I'd say if you could just nail some realism and better rendering in here you're work would definately improve a ton. You've got some ideas, bro! Work with 'em!
Thanks Yodaah....I'm rather productive...though it depends if I get the gumption to scan in and post is the factor to show that I am productive...
been out of sight....working on a college entrance portfolio...: \
ten pieces in less than two weeks now....but thats because I am lazy...though...I have one done and am working on two at once...
one of the WIP's....has a lot of problems as of now...but I'm fixin them
some goofin off was afoot when I got my new Intuos III in the mail...my first tablet...yay!
Funky Love Bot of the satellitesoda.com board....that place is kinda fun
and as a exercise in movement for the most part...the Slasher-fiend Axe-hand...another "slasher".....
Your monsters are exceptionally creepy!!! keep uo the good work, I love the way this sketchbook is shaping up

Browsing through your sketchbook, I see lots of inspiration sources, you mix them together really nice! I get it you are a Warhammer 40k Player and read at least one Shirow Manga (methinks Appleseed). There are some Brom Dark Age elements. Jin-Roh is obvious as pointed out, but do I see some Danger Girl villains in there?
Your perspective and anatomy seems fine to me, the greatest problem I see you have with the eyes. They seem not to fit the proportion and perspective of the heads and are way to big (I know anime-style, but nevertheless).
Left to say, I really like your Mechs, Space Marines and Knights, I like the blend of fantasy with sci-fi elements. Your best I think is the ravenger (inked version).
The tank is cool, let's see some more tanks!
ChM: Aye its a eclectic mess of Magic the gathering, almost any mecha ever designed, Warhammer40k, LotR, Berserk, H.R. Giger, Clive Barker....and so many other things I cant remember actually...More tanks you say...I'd say thats a possiblility..
and a Shooty/Stompy/Orky version of Funky Lovebot aka Sodabot sketch
enjoy : D
sweet stuff man, keep it up!

Baki:I live for art....and sleep...I just try to do something art related once a day..heh heh
Waruwari: I'm not at eatpoo D: ....but thanks man
new sketch...try two at the Black knights fellow....this sketch is of, however, the current grandmaster of the chapter...
and its rather rough at this point
well, at first i couldnt believe that i hadnt posted in this cketchbook yet. but now, looking through the entire thing, im satisfied to say that i enjoyed it. a good splice of warhammer 40000 and hellraiser, wit ha little japanese/robo animation involved, all coming together to make a well balanced animation style that i enjoy. i think you should work on your colored peices more. though experimental they may be (and i should really start reading some of the other CA members critiques) it would be good to get into the shading aspect, darkened hues and over all making your peices more impressive, taking your designs to the next step with attention to lighting and environments to your characters. this is a very good sketchbook, and i so look forward in seeing what else you have coming out of your kitchen.
Best of wishes,
Azeria: aye man
TGping: indeed...but yeah..it IS nice to see a fellow mech junky/addict/head-whathaveyou out there...
