Hi, this is my first post at concept.org. This place is amazing and i hope to get some good criticism.
Here are some recent paintings i did.
With the exception of the painting with the little cabbins, every other painting is a quick sketch. Also the cabbin painting isnt finished.
and here's a wip:
Nice... I like the soft feel they all have, the hill one would be my favourite because it has that extra definition.
The cabin one is also interesting... I look forward to seeing how it turns out
You got some really nice color selections... its too bad I can't tell what half these paints are suppose to be.
Work more loosely with that cabin, it looks like your jumping into details too soon. Start big, then go small detail.
I don't pray because I don't want God to know where I'm at.
beautiful colours indeed.. they dont mean much when you cannot work out what they are maybe titling each work would help, but id suggest give definition to the piece so we arent left to guess. listen to sodomizer tis a good crit. keep it up!
certainly different from what im usually used to seeing in the places i inhabit (new here, myself), some of these are gorgeous (i especially like the 2nd, 3rd and 5th ones), i quite like the lack of definition in those pieces, leaves me guessing and thinking, and i think that's an aspect to them i certainly can appreciate
yeh most of that stuff isnt supposed to be anything, i guess thats a weak point .
but i like the more "suggestive stuff" instead of "here is a tree, here is a rock. and so on..
I agree. These pieces need help... but that's only my opinion. Now there are quite a few people out there who prefer abstract or "definition-less" pieces, in that aspect, righty-o skipper. Good job.
I do dig the cabin one, though. Big thick detail lines and bold color, sweeeeeeeeeeeet!! Will be nice to see it when it's done.
I really enjoyed these, infact I am gonna go do some similiar paintings myself. I dont usually make paintings like this, but I think itll help me get the feel right before a draw anything for something Im working on.
