Just wondering which one of these designs would make a good leave-behind. Or should I scrap them both and start over?
here's the first one
here's the second one
1st one bro - second one doesn't look as pro, and loses some clarity
i like the second one better, but i think you should format it vertically like a 4x5 postcard or whatever the dimensions are. dude why dont you get an email address at johnwalls.com? having a different email address and a free one at that, looks unprofessional for a leave behind.
sketches and progressions
definitely the first one. it looks much more professional.
would probably be easier to print too.
Hey dog. . . . did you see the size of that chicken?!
second one looks fantastic. first one doesnt have as much ooo aaah.
the artwork in the second one comes off better better in my opinion, but the first one's layout seems more professional, as has been said. Perhaps the first would look better if you replaced one of the pictures with that cool crab-thing of yours.
Thanks for the opinions everybody. I've come to the decision of scrapping these two and doing a new one that combines the best elements of the two.
I'll update it here when I'm done.
How 'bout this one?
Hi man. I dont know much about design and layout (I did have a job as layouter some 10 years ago for 14 months, but i mostly just did drawings in my little sketchbook when my boss didnt watch ;abd the little i learnt i have forgotten now), so i cant give u any real advice. I can only say that the first one is the one i prefer. I think it shows your skills as a conceptartist and illustrator more clear than the others. The others are a bit confusing for the eyes and you lose some good and well done details. I would change it a bit tho and use the oneeye robotmonster thing( really cool btw), the blue girl and the axeman - but thats just because those are my favorits. The rest are cool to, but these show high standard. Good job and good luck!
I like the first one, the other two are too messy and confusing. Although I think it'd work nicer if you add a bit of bg to the left panel on the first design.
i still like the first one.
but i would flop the first frame of it.
there is a lot of empty space in it, and it mimics the composition of the third frame too much.
flopping it would add a nice balance and bring your eye into the center.

I would like to see more of empty space in last pic, like brown empty part is good in second.
First is too normal to me. Also the zombie isnt ur best work
