Hello, this is my second thread here.
I like making designs based on books, and I'm planning a Starship Troopers illustration based on the novel. I was so disapointed by the movie and unsatisfied by the power armor in the animated series... Here's what I have so far. NOT totally dogmatic to the book, I can tell you, I'm just trying to show the badassness of a genocidal, debatably-facist, power-armored infanrtyman.
Recognized influences: Metroid, Warhammer, Appleseed, Fallout, Armored Core, Starcraft. See anything else? It's funny that some of the designs that inspired this design may have been inspired by the book.
I like the big bulky design, looks very tough and badass. Do you plan on polishing them more? The sketchiness is cool, but a bit hard to tell each part from the others.
Holly crap! Total sweetness rubendevela!
Any plans to do the bugs?
A step in one drection is two steps from another.
awesome designs im a big fan of both the book and the movie for different reasons just one question> there was an animated series? gime gime gime...anyways i would like to see more designs like the drop pods things and the bugs.
till shade is gone
till water is gone
into the shadow
with teeth bared
with the last breath
to spit in sightblinder's eye
on the last day
Nice designs, though I'm glad I don't have to draw them, the powersuits from the series were fiddly enough to draw each time as it was!
@Aiel-TrooperPX This site covers both the movie and the CGI TV series, and has the concept art from the series(which proved infinitely useful for me)and which is well worth a look.
There were two animated series, the 3d cg one that was relatively recent, and a 6 episode oav series made by studio Nue in the late 80's, the team that made Macross.Originally Posted by aiel
