I'm working on a creature that lives in ant-like colonies. I'm attempting to combine some ant, crab/lobster, spider, and rhino features into this thing. The idea is that they'll have a hive mind, becoming more intelligent in larger quantities, and have a set of legs that are adapted mouth pieces and manipulators. There will be flying drones, queens, and several other castes. Also, they are going to have insect and mammal slaves (including people) that they herd or force to labor.

You ass, I post stuff in god knows how long and you don't even comment.
Thanks Kenneth and Rotor for your comments i'll get back to working on that creature soon, trying to finish my COW entry before the deadline, I will post that here later!
Kit- Patience, I'm about to go post on your sketchbook I get an email update and everything when the great Christopher Race decides it's time to grace the internet with his presence XD
Here's my entry for the COW:
Ay crunker junk- Nice design, I especially like the snapping turtle looking mouth. The fur on the back kind of reminds me of Shadow of Co...oh you know.
I say I like this image how it is- with the low key lighting and such, but I think having an extra image to the side with the creature lit well would of been fresh.
I saw you words on my sb thread, don't think you getting away without me noticing! I'm hoping to get in on some life drawing soon. My awesome neighbor Craig has been telling me about something he goes to.
My mess will be known.
Loving the originality in your works ! Keep going
Cool stuff in here. I like the recent creature designs. My critiques would be to post more often (!), and maybe try pushing the value range some more to get more striking light and shadow. However, I do kind of like how the most recent piece is gloomy and somewhat low-contrast.
Here's some album artwork for a local metal band "Skwerl Grinda"
A work in progress for this fish guy, and a near-done Album cover
here's a portrait of a friend from my camping trip this weekend.
another quick portrait
work in progress for this week's COW
hey, nice work all around man. love the recent creatures and your self portraits. I can't believe you carved your head in the snow man, cool.
general observation: whenever you've got a solid reference photo, the jump in quality is dramatic. for a crit, I'd say use more refs in general perhaps - even when making new creatures (like, a shot of a lion's leg can guide the anatomy choices for any muscle based predator). Only other advice might be to add more chiaroscuro to your work - heighten the contrast, with some darker darks and brighter brights, and dramatic complimentary color shading - these would make your sketches, portraits, etc really stand out. Keep up the good work and I'll see you at the faberge COW!
some more work on my COW this morning, i got about an hour after work to put the finishing touches on it... wish I had more time, bu that's waht I get for starting sooo late
Submitted it with just 3 minutes to spare! Woot!
a ridiculous D&D character request.
More cow stuff
Wow, it's impressive how you improve with each pic. Awesome and crazy creature designs and I love those made for this week's COW. Your Faberge Dragon is also great imho it was a good decision to choose less saturated hues. It's great that you've made so many SP and decided to go crazy with colours and snow sculpture made me giggle . You should post more of them or other portraits to show us your progress after 1 years time. Keep up good work!
My sketchbook Crits and advice highly encouraged!
more thumbnails. I did these first on paper a few days ago, then pick and chose from a bunch of different sheets organizing them in PS last night.
More robot silhouettes
working on 2 board games at the moment. One is a throw back to old Asian sci-fi designs. It's a bit simpler and with a younger audience in mind. The other is more of a robotech/gundam mech combat game for teens and old nerds like myself. The previous batch of robot silhouettes and the portrait in this post are for the mech game.
Some recent sketches.
