You have discovered the fact that Photoshop is not the best drawing or painting program.
It is very good at touching up or applying and adjusting areas of color.
On the otherhand, Corel's Painter program is excellent as a drawing or painting tool for artists.
In Painter you are given an enormous variety of options,
including all the common drawing and painting tools and surfaces.
Pencils behave like real pencils.
And just like in real life, you can choose different kinds of pencils,
colors, thickness, as well as the kind of paper or other surfaces
on which to draw.
By switching tools you can experiment with watercolor washes
or oil paint details.
You can start with the mouse
but the ultimate setup is to use a tablet with a pressure sensitive pen.
There is more information as well as examples of Painter on this forum.
I hope this helps you find your artistic way.
That seems alot like an advertisement.
Anways, are you sure you set the opacity down to about 18 percent?
Thanks for yours posts!
D Thurman: Ive got a Genius tablet ( badly) I try with painter time ago but I think ( I´m graphic designer and work with photoshop everytime, everywhere)Photoshop paintings have the same Quality
PixelDragoon: Yes, opacity 20%.... I tried to upload today some of my baaaad sketchbook and photoshop example of drawing...and you can see it
I would have to agree with D thurman, Painter is a dedicated image creation program while photoshop is the best photo retouch/manipulation program avalible. That being said some artist do use photoshop for drawing and painting. I use painter, its not as stable and sometimes crashes but its brushes are well worth the hang ups. I hate to make this a commercial for painter but for digital freehand drawing its king. I allway use photoshop later on in the game for touchups and effects ect. The two are a killer pair and with news that adobe has just bought macromedia, im keeping my fingers crossed that things will only get better.
hola!, oye... si kieres ke parezca lapiz usa painter. Photoshop no imita el efecto lapiz, y si mas adelante quieres pintarlos te recomiendo que uses painter, a poder ser la version 9.
Ala, nada mas. A cuidarse, por cierto que tiempo hace en España?
