Last one looks like a self portrait? Like the lighting on her, facial structure is looking really good. My only crit would be that the skin tones need some more colour - notably the really subtle red tinge between highlights and shadow one would normally expect to see - but I know many people save that for later.
The fact that you've painted the one on top of the other makes it feel like a painting and not just random studies. Reminds of a trick Dan Fiedler always uses.
Keep the musos coming too.
Edit: Oh, and happy belated birthday>
Thanks guys. Brendan, yep it's a self portrait (which I really should get back to heh). Will keep your checks in mind.
Pantsface. I haven't forgotten about this sketchbook! Music first: VNV Nation
Uhm for now here is a low-res snippet of some things I'm working on Still going on that Self Portrait, I have to add another figure now since I got a haircut heh heh heh.
Oh, screw it, I'll post some of it
I'm going through the Dungeons and Dragons Monster Manual and picking out monsters to do my own spin on - currently, the ubiquitous Red Dragon. Here's a body concept, still a work in progress - how's it looking?
Some older head studies which need cleaning up before I throw them in the portfolio.
Sleepytimes for me now!
Omg do you play DnD? I've just broken my DnD hymen, it's fantastic.
Dragon's looking sweet. I like the spiky 'eyelashes'.
I see your note about longer neck and tail and I think you should try them.
Red dragons are typically intelligent and have a more regal/elegant appearance, but that's just the standard red dragon, no reason why you shouldn't do something else.
Hunter: Nah, I don't play DnD/RPGs (yet...). Though I used to have a ton of old White Wolf ones that I read, interesting look into world-building. Interior illustrations are always neat too
Okay, I have been tinkering with it today - lengthened tail and neck, deepened chest, starting to add scaly texture to skin and clean up the body a little too. Hopefully it's looking a bit sleeker and less brutish.
Whoops, nearly forgot about this place Some music first. Howard Shore's score for the Lord of the Rings trilogy still hits me in all the right places.
Current work in progress for ChoW #209 - The Fallen Angel "Samael". Still a ways to go on this one.
That's fully seek, mate.
Nice updates man - I like the digital stuff a lot and the red dragon is looking good! Only crit is more pencils please! Anyway keep working away and I look forward to checking out more
The latest earworm for me:
HK: Choice, bro. I have two jobs now. Wooo
ThomasM: More pencils on the wayyy
Ricardo R: Thanks! Long way to go on it, not quite sure which direction to take at the moment. Least I've figured the values out heh.
Speaking of pencils. Missed this kind of stuff recently.
the dragon is great, and im really curious to see the piece on post 432 finished xD
Feeling like I rely too much on reference as a crutch and can't just draw from my head sometimes, so I revisited the Weird-West cowboy and his spirit-buddy, no references used. Gotta finally do portraits of a bunch of characters.
And here are some naked ladies since I never draw any
