great looking piece.
it reminds me of arthur rackham a bit...very elegant.
my only quib is the round window in the back.
its not perfectly round. usually inaccuracy is fine, but when it comes to circles, they kinda NEED to be circles.
regardless, a beaut!

Thank's for crits: it's true,I think the same, inaccuracy is fine, but not in that case!(i'm sorry for my ugly english!),some shapes need to have a correct basic-shape for a simple eye's recognize!Originally Posted by DSillustration

I had to stop to look at this one.. the shading itself is okay, but you have a great sense for value and where you use saturation. It really affects the overall feel in a good way. Try avoiding those "petting" storkes when you shade cloth, it starts to look a bit stiff. Keep it up!
yeah same as above -
nice colour and tone - very web-like wispy quality - dusty and dickensian...
id look to rework the lower 5th i think based on whats above the bottom of the dress you are capable of more polish -
also sort the arch a little it looks wonky -
a little more blue source light on her face from the gem/pendant would add a greater feeling of action and vibrance to the pic - ie - underside of nose and chin + eybrows etc
good stuff - rekon you can make it even cooler with a 30 minute edit -
arm holding sword and sword require a little more definition - arm looks wide and sword is squint/oddly proportioned - small fixes = large results
is the sword broken - ?
if so thats seems like it wants to tell its own story ?
maybe suggest visually how or what it got broken on/doing
It has a nice style, reminicent of the Castlevania concept art. Nice and misty...
One thing I don't like is the round window thing...along with it being missshapen it seems to pop out too much. Sometimes when I look at it it looks like a globe of the earth hanging behind her.It could be that there doesn't appear to be any thickness to the wall that the window is built into. Castle walls are usually a foot thick at least so the windows usually have a thicker structure...
Finally, the light that is coming in through the window is not having enough of a backlighting effect on the figure.
I like the wolfy dog cat things though...I missed them the first time I looked. Very cool.
I've change something about yours good crits!
Tnx a lot at all!
