Well, I can't just keep lurking without saying something. I love your sketchbook. These greyscale painting sketches you've been doing are very nice. Inspiring.
Well your work's just awsome. I especially like that last piece, the lips, the hair, it has a great feel to it.
How's the job search going? There's all kinds of ways to make money doing art it's just that most of it's not science fiction. If you're willing to paint portraits, signs, tatto designs, advertizing, murals/ decorative borders/ faux finishes, CD covers, clip art, etc etc it may not be what you really want, but it keeps you out of the 9 to 5 rut.

3 things man...
# 1) You are a freekin insparation. Can't tell you how many times I've thought about cutting out on my job to take this up full time. Bravo!
# 2) Your work is looking great and seems to be improving. G/J
# 3) The Hooters up here in Alaska.... come up here if you ever start thinking about wanting to go back... *shudders in disgust*
still got the background>right hand>and all the lil' details... but gettin' there!
I think this-
is one of your strongest pieces. I think the design and anatomy combined are great. If you can do work like this consistently and/or work in this direction I think your skills with a pen will be extremely considerable and I for one will have even more respect for you. I don't especially like your digital technique, however, it seems to lack a vibrancy that I think really is a unique and beautiful part of digital media. I think you need to take more chances with color. Maybe try extreme color tweaks of your existing pieces to find a color scheme/colors that you really like and start to incorporate that into your work. If I may, i would like to suggest "Watercolor Painting Smart" by Al Stine for some color theory ideas. I'm impressed you quit your steady job to move into art and I sincerely hope it works out for you as a lot of us around here are in the same boat.
just some practice... completely made in openCanvas 4... the lines are all messed up but close enough to get the point... I'm gonna figure a way out to do it right on the computer though!
if your drawings of hot women came to life the first thing i'd say to them is...
"DO ME NOW!!"
fuck yeah man, keep it up
Why do all the Good Artists Have Goatees!? I'll Grow one! then watch out! >= )
11/10 on everything man. Kudos!
JAGrello - Thanks for stopping by my sketchbook! I've been checking yours out a lot lately. Your technique just keeps getting better. I love it when I get that e-mail telling me there's an update here.
hey, I'm just stopping in and subscribing for updates! I really like your rough figures, you've got something great going so don't stop! I'd work on your perspective a bit, and maybe start playing with color (<-- two things I have no experience with). hehe
