This is the main character of a video game i am making with a group in school. I rarely colour my drawings on a comp and was hoping to get some tips. The q-tip thing is just to show why his arms are up. its not an official part of the pic.
I'm not sure what you mean about the q-tip showing why his arms are up? His arms cannot be up for the sake of being as such, is that what you're saying?
As of now, I think he's not quite main character material. He reminds me of what would be soem recurring sub character for comic relief. It's but the strange grin on his face and the eyes give me the Jar Jar Binks feel. And I hate Jar Jar. So I have a hard time liking this character.
I hope this does'nt sound as mean as I think it does.

The neck doesn't show that head is bending forward, and the shoulder muscle doesn't show the upper arm are bending back, and make it look very odd when you place the stick there.
And like interceptor mentioned, you should plan ahead with the pose first, why is his arms up there like that if you dont plan on using the q-tip? There need to be something holding it or it won't make sense. both hands are too similar, you may want to change the gesture of one of the hands.
And it seems you use burn tool for coloring. Avoid using that, and you need to use more defined shadings. I don't really like the color pallete right now, it's too much yellow/brown tones. You may want to make it varied a little more.
