I havent been checkin up on this thread for awhile, been some great stuff posted
balistic: great texture and light, not to mention good variety in ur scenes. U seem to have a real knack for ambient and reflected light. Barontieri: exciting and very live feel to ur pieces, awesome proportional relationships and design!
Ceenda: I'm always inspired when I see your paintings
have to check back more often!
Hehe, been on CA for 6 months now, never knew this thread existed. Ah well, you live you learn. Here are 2 from me...some of you may have seen them on my other threads, but they're my first attempt at "speed painting," cause I've been known to spend days and days on crap.

Ryu nice - This is coming from a red/green coloredblind me
----so im not the best to crit this but ill do for now-----
the shadow and the hair color is the same (i think, which isnt a bad thing just different from what i would do") and the red spot inbetween the left eye and nose is kinda isolated. But the light/darkness contrast is nice and i much like it. Good job on the light source + colors (except for the red by itself)
I wish I could remember my first fromlife painting....
Hello everyone, this is my first time post anything anywhere; so forgive me if the images don't attach or they are huge. its a portrait i did in photoshop. This is my first time using photoshop like this. Took about 1.5 hours. So tell us what you think!
Hey tried that annis but didn't work, have I typed in the wrong thing?
Hello. i hope you will like it
Not from your computer. You have to have a website or something on the internet to upload images to (Photobucket, Freeware, Netzero, etc.)
Hopefully, that'll work.
30 mins in painter ix... didnt turn out as good as they usually do
will be releasing video of this image later on
i used artrage for this
i think it needs more maybe a background
sorry if its too big
This took me like 15 minutes and I got the idea from an ad for the PS2 game Killshot..
Here is about 45 minutes in Painter IX

I hope this works this time!
There's some really cool work here.
My first speed paint ever. Can anyone give me any tips?? This took me about an hour 'cause I was trying to figure out how to set the brushes the way one of my friends suggestted.
Yeah, I'm a newbie... so forgive the newbie questions. Do most of you work in PC or Mac format. And is it just me or are a lot of these images not appearing on your screens. I got a whole bunch of red X's... but not all of them.
The work is DARN impressive for times falling mostly under 1 1/2 hours. I am most impressed with the drawings in photoshop.... I can never get my photoshop work to look like that. I am makeing the assumption that most of you are using drawing tablets... if not all of you. The mouse just CANNOT do that sort of stuff.
Great work, I will be sure to past soon.
RE Cut to white.
Heres a tip. Cut to 5% grey.
Save the white for the highlight in the pic, probably in the eye, It's just a thought for GOcKO and others. Some of the pics with grey bakgrounds look better despite the image quality.
Brutal crits for today,
regrets for tomorrow
