That Chow rocks man! Watch the focus on the enviro, the character should be the most important part and the colors support that but it's really blurry, while the leaf brushes are kinda sharp, so they draw the eye more than they should do.
The first character is cool too, nice, believable lighting there!
About the being lazy and wishing to have your ass kicked, did you see Mr.Delicious' rant in his sketchbook a few days ago? I thought that was pretty awesome what he said there, helped me a lot
@Algenpfleger: thanks a ton, again! I really hope we see each other some day to give you a big hug.
@cout<mecha: Thank you, i will show what i can do with the geisha painting...
well, to give a sign of life, here is a painting i started recently.
I do some hand and gesture studies, too, which are my two big weaknesses.
Here we go, little use of reference.... don´t know if i should widen the canvaz...
Shame on me for not painting anything for the last weeks.
Nevertheless i finally found some time do show if i can paint at all after this break.
So i started an entry for the CHOW "Countess Elizabeth Bathory"
Started today (you can see some progress shots at the CHOW thread)
Some ref. for some inital lines,...
About 1-2 hours, Photoshop
@Texahol: Muss ich das verstehen...?
@Algenpleger: Hey buddy, i didn´t checked your sketchbook lately but i will have a look it! Just have to find some handkerchiefs to dry my tears.
Well, i did my last presentation and final work for school today.
Which means I finally have some time again for painting.
Here is a sketch i did in the last 30min
Inspired by you, Algenpfleger, with your chow entry and its atrocity....
@algenpfleger: I am not kidding! You are really an inspiration to me. You show what I lazy guy i am right now. And your chow was just "wow"!
@Clochette: Thanks a lot, clochette!!
ok, i thought i gonna finish that painting in one session. I started yesterday and progressed really fast.. but as it goes i fall down.
Starting with the face, where i used a ref. for the shading, i sweat with the pose and the body. Still don´t know if the scene makes sense or fits with the expression...
so here it is.... still pity wip.
arghhh... not my day!
You've got some nice finished works here, your persistance at finishing them and taking them to the next level is impressive, I wish I had that much patience.

@brentos8: are you talking with me? i am a horrible patient painter, i think it my biggest lack next to drawing hands... *lol*
ok here a last speed painting... finally found a brush which works for me!
no ref. / about 30 -40 min
@mariusz: thanks a lot for your kind words!
@shou`: Thanksss! I hope i can join the next chow or eow!
Ok here are two unfinished works i started some time ago.
For the first i used some little ref. for the folds / clothing, a bit boring / perhabs i add something to add a story etc.
For the second one i started with a 3d modell of the stairway (a pain to draw stairs straight in PS)
I wanted to create some scenery with architecture and figurative work.
Wish me luck to finish both!!!
nice stuff Asatira
maybe some more perspective sketching
but keep going
thanks Kristo, it is really a shame i don´t do perspective / architecture drawings at all, although i study interior design / interior architecture.
All visualisations i do 3D...
Nevertheless here is a quick update of the last sketch.
Added some more drama..
looking good xaya, can't wait to see where you go with it.
your sense for color and different moods is very intensive
perspective training could help supporting the right impression of your fantastic imaginations... but i´m no pro ^^
Thanks again Kristo, you are absolutely right what you said. I will follow it!
@Victor B: Thanks a lot, i can´t wait myself for the result.
Here is the next step: Even more drama, and details (i am not sure about the door/window at the upper right side...)
The warrior still needs some serious work.
Well it´s gonna time for some new self-portrait.
So i catched a mirror and a nice lighting, painting for about 2 hours with a little break i am quite satisfied (for now) and in comparison with my last one...
Happy new year everybody.
I used the first day in the year for some exercises!
Did this lanscape / enviroment sketch, my aim was to get some epic mountain scenery, and to study scale.
I used a marble texture for some pattern and grip. no ref. for the actual scene.
Still needs a lot of work, trough!
I hate the sb right above... have to do another tomorrow...
update, added a "exit", details etc.
Hey, Xaya the enviornment and self portrait look Great! Any update on the knight knight on the stairway sketch? Keep posting as you can, cheers.
Thanks a lot Victor, i work on the "knight on the stairway" painting soon, and hopefully finish that thing.
Ok, i recognised that i still lack doing full body characters, so i did this study from ref. to do some warm up.
I will do some more full body drawings right now!
no figure drawings but something else.
I still in search of a personal style of characters. Here a try... although you can put it straight to "realistic anime"...
Nevertheless i hope i find the time to continue this.
really gently painted faces...in most of all of your artwork..
tell me if i'm wrong - do you have not enough patience to end your stuff?
i have the same problem...but in a last sketch it looks really cool..so fresh i.m.o...
thanks for dropping by selfu!!
Well, yes my patience to finish paintings is quite low.
Nevertheless I fight against it!
Here is an update for the enviroment, i am not happy right know, it looks too friendly, perhabs i have to decrease the staturation and dynamic a bit... also the lonely figure looks stupid, misplaced. Think i need some view on real landscapes now.
