my aim was not to draw ordinary skulls but human skulls with deformation and annormal features (like the chin of the second from left)
but u are absolutely right, if you don´t know what´s underneath the skin u just don´t get it.
Looking at the last drawing today... well i could do better.
an old man from my head with one really small right hand.
I really like your head studies, particularly the painted ones; they have a lot of expression to them. And I liked yesterdays post, very cool.
Thanks for leaving comments in my thread, much appreciated, especially after seeing your stuff. I'll be back.
2 sketches, no ref. and some but not much time 8)
well i do a ??? at a photo studio until christmas,
u spend a lot time waiting so i don´t wait but draw...
even i can´t do artworks... its getting better n better...
haven't checked out your sketchbook in a while .. wow to your dedication, nice self portraits just wanted to say keep it up!
Just post one for today (although i have a lot sketches)
I started also a life drawing course but
you wíll not believe that my imaginative looks better than my life models...
well so here
once more a imaginative one:
i haven't checked in here that often, heck i haven't really updated my book that much lately, but nice studies. i really like what you are doing when it comes to sketching and painting. the studies are great and it looks like you are learning a lot.
Solid progression in the right direction!
ok just a small update
this is one of the 25% finished pieces, which are everywhere in my flat.
Nevertheless it is a good step forward.
There is a problem with the perspective (the table is to far away)
but i think i can fix it.
I wanna draw somebody flying at the top of the paper, just something like a manifested idea...
A4 about one and a half hour +
as someone said before.. - your faces and poses are getting better and better. lots of improvement!
in einem jahr machst du den meisten pros hier weiche knie :]
thanks a lot hanuka!
Hope it doesn´t need a full year
ok after a lot of sketches a painting has to come.
I prefered another UNPLANNED spontanic one.
No references not clear what at all!
(although i have about 10 more or less clear paintings imaginary in my mind)
this is wip (although i could have quit at this state, at about 2-3 hours)
the face was really nice i realized after i smacked it up completely.
So i worked some more hours to achieve another pleasing face...
and finally i am back on the right track.
I just post this wip to see another phenominal change in one drawing by me.
well, i quit,
there is still lot to improve and more knowledge that i could input, but
i really have to wait til dried.
I used a prepainted wooden panel 60x40cm.
Perhabs i had to use some gesso (i can´t hold a pure white on the surface)
ok, the snapshot is more dramatically (just used ivory black and titanium white)
finally about 5-7 hours although i could have done it in half the time.
long time no see!
so i got a free minute to post up todays work.
Done at work after some horrible sketches, from my level one year ago.
(so i thought)
So some more quickies... after getting into the flow
sorry for bad shots but no time and power to fix it.
hey xaya well done!! lots of improvement happening, your stuff is looking better each time i check in. cool!
.: drawing fundamentals 01 :.
constant improvement. good to see you posting again.
Hi Xaya ! Lot of good stuff, great lines and style, here ! I'm very impressed by the qulity of your studies. You simply blow my eyes with it !
More is the only thibg I can told you !
not much time and fun to post with a 64kb connection...
well here is a oil painting i did in about 3 days
(i didn´t finished completely because i don´t like the composition / colours so much and just finished the section i will cut out someday)
ok here we go
(i also did a nice sb with oil but didn´t get a fine shot yet)
ähhh... i really hate to look at the still life oil painting today...
so much shit happening...
well ok, i went back to my lovely pencils,
still wip, but i hope i finish that thing,
worked about 3 hours so far (with no clear concept what i was drawing)
after becoming desperate what to paint next i
did a alla prima painting of a imaginary figure
(i started once again without knowing what i want to paint)
It is also the first try with oil papier... (55x70cm or something like that)
so ok total time about 3 hours
here the nice progress
I enjoy your loose pencil and oil style, most of the porportaions are pretty good, though the priest or cardinal's hand is a tad bit small. Really nice stuff, its great to see your process as well.
