Ok. Here are a few more paintings that I've finished. Can't wait to hear some crits. Maybe some of you pros can give me a little technical feedback.
"George and Tim Just Couldn't Work Together Anymore"
"The Adventures of Rigo, Community College Pirate"
"The Great Shower Conundrum of '86"
haha this shit is great!!! Loved the first one, the shower conundrum flipped me out and the college pirate?? what can be said.
righteous shit man.
Thanks Ybot. Glad to know some people are finding these funny.
the first piece...thats the hardest i've laughed at a drawing/painting/comic in so long! pure genius man!!!! damn thats funny!!!!
edit: click, save as wallpaper.
I self-published a book on the fundamentals of drawing from life.
ho- larious totally
not that it matters much since its all so hilarious but the rv seems stretched out and the cloth on the guys rain coat seems simplistic and the shading is unrealistic because its values are spread to far along the value scale try darkening the coats highlights
these things don't matter though...
Now this is the kind of work we need more of!
just great! I cant stop laughing at the first one....that pose! you dont even need the caption!
good Premis is a rare quality in artists now a days...man this totaly takes me back to when Gary Larson was still doing the FAR SIDE strips!...
do more, get a job doing these for the paper, so I can finaly chuckle when reading the funnies!.....
Haha, great concepts!
lol, awesome stuff! I especially love the first one. You ever read the Seaguy comic? It's full of hilarious stuff that doesn't make sense.
Looks like you may be influenced by Southern California artist Sandow Burk. The middle piece really reminds me of his "Fog and Thunder" series.
Great sense of humor to them all.
lol awsome, the jokes remind me of the far side, good stuff.

well, in that first one I guess the character interaction could be a little more detailed...although it is good. I only see three hands. Where is the left arm of the man on the left?
N & B
wow. this is the best response to one of my posts yet! thanks to all of you that have posted. i really appreciate it.
ive been told the pirate one is poor because of the composition. what do you guys think?
You sir are a mad genius. Mad + Genius = whatyoumaydo. I demand more stuff. More stuff + the demand of = FatMike.
I'l be honest, I love your concepts and execution - they all definitely remind me of Gary Larson.
However I didn't realize that the college pirate had a cannon, let alone that there was a cannonball in the air until after I read your question about composition and went back to look again.
really like the art, and although I feel I am probably completely unqualified to comment, I think the first one for me is the most balanced, while the second is really cool, and the third kinda makes you think...
Have you done any others? They are good
ps. I'm new here and I have to say these smily faces are a bit crazy aren't they! Whta's the wasp all about!?
