Okay! First, a brief intro, because I'm fairly new here:
My name is Brianna, I'm a sophomore in highschool, and I've been drawing for about two years.
I figured posting here and keeping up a thread might motivate me to work daily, instead of wasting away my vacation, constantly putting things off.
Working from John H. Vanderpoel's The Human Figure...
Doodles while listening to Neutral Milk Hotel's "In the Aeroplane Over the Sea", just drawing what came to mind when listening to the lyrics.
An unfinished random doodle, and a character design.
That's from the past month or so, and hopefully I'll be able to update daily, or at least daily sketches in batch-posts.
Feedback is much appreciated!!
great stuff brianna!! i especially like the ones on the necks...
i'm not one much to offer critique, but i would suggest that you make your lines more fluid and confident instead of so short and sketchy... i think this'll push your understanding of line...
you're really doing good... thx for posting!
Actually all the body parts are in the right place or pretty close!!!
Welcome to the sketch o thon --- post your britches off ---- and give some feedback. No matter where you look I got that booK.
cuzzo - Believe it or not, that's probably one of the best critiques I've been given in ages. That single piece of advice has helped so much.
You're completely right - I do need to loosen up.
I tried it a bit last night, and breaking my old habit is a very hard thing to do. It takes focus and obviously won't come overnight... but I'm working towards it. I have a feeling that if I'm able to loosen up the lines a bit, I'll be able to get things a lot faster, and more efficiently.
But for now it's just taking a lot of erasing.. I'll get used to it!
mentler - Hey, thanks.
I did another page of Vanderpoels last night, but I may hold off since I plan on doing several pages of other things today.
