holy shit, you and rusty make a great team. that spine is so awesome. thanks for the post.
holy crap dude....the concepts and color rendering are really sweet and expressive!
do you let your pencil sweep over the page on its own in order to elicit imagery, or do you have an idea in your head from go on some of these?

yeah...actually this is going to sound really...pussy.. I guess, but whatever. Been doing a lot of drawing from life and photos (have never done too much of this) and I'm just learning that my skill level is way far below what I thought it was. So I guess I was scared to show anything, even the pictures I like, are just studies, and not really too interesting to see. I promise you man that I am trying, and I'm deffinately not giving up, ....just couldn't reveal my newer, more-crappier artOriginally Posted by prostate sunrise

N & B
Great stuff PS.
Are you working professionally or school or what? Anyways, just curious how old you were, because if you're freaking 17... I quit. I agree with Mike on the color stuff, I'd love to see you take on some other colors in those paints... and if you're willing to share your brush names, I'd appreciate that.
Keep 'em coming man.
if you ever color that, you have to let me buy a print, omg. anyways, enough with the fanboy stuff. good stuff man. beautiful linework. i like how you render your images too. definitely someone i look up to. keep it up 8)
Yo Kekai man if you ever need some stuff printed up let me know I work for Fedex and they own Kinko's so yeah...cause I would love to plaster my wall with your colored pics.
prostate - i'm at work, recovering from 2 weeks of hell, and I came to CA to pay dues and be comforted. I got to your thread and I couldn't help posting just to say how amazing a progression you're making. the last few posts are amazing....your guy with the horns that is smoking is awesome, as is the fully shaded face above him....man I really love your stuff. sorry, no time for crits, just wanted to say hi and good job.

rambhat - i work in the game industry, as a texture artist. havent really fished the freelance market yet. and dont worry im not 17, im a couple of years older then you are. and after looking at your sketch book you make me feel old. nothing special with the brushes, i have a couple of custom textures that i click on and off in the ps7 brush menu.
dougbot - oh please, you and xia some mental help.
character - thanks, glad you like it.
sok n wett - thanks for the offer.
maldrin - thanks for the comments bro!
what a painful week for art. anyway here's what i got, and after this i need to finish up my TD entry. which by the way, is A MOTHER'S LOVE. expect something beautiful or twisted from coro and me. well, more coro then me .
Damn dude! First off, I really apologize for not having anything constructive to say when I drop by here. If I ever find anything to crit, I'll let you know.
But as it is, I love everything. Especially all these ornate little details your characters have. Can't wait to see how yours and coro's tdome pieces turn out.
that 3RD one is amazing. Keep pushing and trying new things.... I need it.
Your best update, yet, man. Really beautiful stuff, and I have to agree with sketch, the third one is freakin' awesome. Are you selling prints yet? If so, let us know where we can buy some. If not, then...why the hell not?!?!?!
Awesome update bro! You make me want draw with pencil, nice fluid lines, there's some real magic happening. More enviroments from you, it's cool to see how you approach something else.
"Let it BURN"
your poses are so dynamic and you line is so fluid. awesome work.
dood great fucking job on that alien rendering! im excited
that bitch with the blue 5 painted is so clean. Man i cannot wait to see your t dome entry. NOw i feel mine lacks any style at all.
Awesome work. Id say one way to improve is try painting some picture with natuaral light source and evironments for you characters. You draw dope characters and environments, so why not combine them?!
BLAST ON YOU!
Definitely a sweet ass post, PS.
I'm hoping that we can sit together to rap about Photoshop at cafe vita this Friday. Be smooth to talk digi witcha.

i guess you are all self thaught? aren't you? how long are you drawing?

Cake- Kick ass T-dome entry!!!
hey congrats on turning in such a kick ass piece for the seatlle/cali battle.. i think it beat coro's
Cake's the shit.
Hey bro now that we've got you drawing faces and doing a hell of a job at it, I was hoping to see a wider range of emotion in your facial expressions. Looking at your T-dome piece made me think of it and then i looked through all your other pages again and saw similar stuff, sadness, solemness, quiet anger but that's it usually, I know you can do it all, may be it's just a choice but I thought I mention it.
I hate leavin the fanboy comments without leavin something constructive so here you go.
When you going to post your T-dome piece here?? It was great to see you tackle more than one character in an enviroment.
Peace Bro- A
a shame I didnt post in here and tell you that your stuff is slick - both paintings and drawings. man, thanks for the inspiration and keep on posting. love your weird costumes.
groover mcnab - thanks dude, im always open to critiques and such.
sketch - thank you, she was a rough idea for my TD entry. still trying to push.
i_am - never really thought of it, glad you like em that much.
liam.c - lol, dont worry.
bojee - thanks bro.
killing.people - why thank you .
rusty - thanks for stopping by, man you've been killing that shit over on your end.
metaphysiks - haha, thanks bud!
flex mathews - thanks man, oc a-waiting!
JackalAnubis - hey thanks man!
liam.c - see everthings fine, thanks for stopping by.
sinix - thank you, glad you like the chick.
nardfrog - thank you, #5 was a rough idea for the compo for the td piece. what a good idea! im on it.
redehlert - thanks, maybe next week.
yoell - thanks, just trying.
oleolsen - glad you like em. been "drawing" all my life. got serious a few years ago, went to a "art school" but realize that with hardwork you can teach yourself, the main things i got out of school were other artists as friends. but right now im trying to find a continueing ed or night class for some fine art training.
bojee - thanks man.
main loop - thank you, i was just trying to hang.
bojee - thanks dude, i hear you on that.
jeff jaws - thank you for stopping by.
mikecorriero - sure thing bro.
SamBrown36 - thank you, and your welcome.
well heres the wip of mother's love. tried some tweaks, not really that big, still feel stupood. and oh yeah, if i knew about the large sake bottles last night i would have truly been lord of the dance! jetpack, ben, bojee, etc i hope you had fun!!!.....bastards .
i tried to start out a little different. going from blues to the browns and reds i like so much.
at this point i didnt really know what she was walking past, and the idea of a mother of monsters popped into my head. and i was like, hey, i like drawing monsters.
here i adjusted the compo by entending it, seemed a little too cramped at the focus point.
tried to define some sort of background, and some lights.
and here's the initial sketch i started out with.

great post man, really nice process and cool sketch pages as usual, btw way where are you taking fine art classes? i was looking into getting into some at night as well. thanks for posting man
Nathan Campbells 3 steps to drawing like a pro, 1. Sketch 2. shade. 3. highlights and ur done
what an excellent update! these are inspirational!!
All your work screams with intensity. Your sketches show such a matured style. Is all of this from your head or do you draw insipration from books or some other media? Love it, thanks for posting up your work here for us. Look forward to seeing where this kind of talent will lend itself.
Knowledge - it's all from his head, if you can sit next to him and watch him draw, you would feel this significant amount of energy seizing through your body, like you feel awed and shock at what his hands can create, like a doctor that can save a life, Kekai gives life to his drawings.
Ok I gotta go clean my chin, the drool isn't helping.
Yay! Your thread is a perfect place to go when my confidence gets a little too high. Best looking smack in the face one can wish for!
I`ve been dying to challenge you: How about you illustrate your nick?
Im loving your last update. The mothers love piece is coming along beautifully. I know its not done, but keep an eye on the womans proportions. keep that graceful curve to her back, but its a touch too long and her arms on the thin side. The monsters are great! cant wait to see it finished. The other sketch entries are wonderful. i love how fluid your linework is, and the passion in your figures. absolutely beautiful.
AAAAH! You finally posted that sweet T-dome piece! And a WIP! Awesome.
I was dying to see you go up against a master like El Corro mano a mano. Well you looked that behemoth right square in the eye and spat! He busted out some serious open-handed art-fu but you countered well with Shaolin Hell Demon Magic Stance. War drums pounded and lightning cracked in the ol T-dome that day.
Better call in the repair crew, cuz you two blew the roof off that ol' Thunderdome. It's like trying to pick between a Zdzislaw Beksinski (google him, he's right up yer alley) and a Rembrandt. I loved Corro's, but your entry is hanging on my Wallpaper right now. Cheers! (I think it's your best piece to date, and tells a story I want to experience more of).
My only question is this...how much of those WIP shots were painted on the artboard, and which were PS? It almost looks like there is some sort of ink wash in step one, then a dose of PS afterwards, then it looks like you are drawing the secondary monsters right on the board again. Or was that sketching right on the wacom? Interesting!
Rusty was right, you'd make a great Spawn artist. I dig the fact you are focusing on real faces now, keep throwing down that heavy smack. I look forward to all your updates, man!
Great sketch pieces this round too.
Daaaamn you prostate and your mad skills!!! I hope you're coming to the SF workshop, I definitely want to sketch out with you. Post a pic of yourself before you go, if you do go.
damn you prostate and your amazing dancing capabilites. no one can dance like this man here, hoo boy!
oh yea, your drawings are awesome too.

Hell yeah, WIP, and more kickass sketches. Thanks dude.
Lord of the dance
King of Karaoke
Your title grows........and the legend continues.
Incredible update, i love your sketchbook pages...
May i ask if you're a professional? a student?
Being newly an art stud, i was thinking that you're opinion on my drawings, would be very nice, maybe also if you think of some things to getting better at drawing from imagination, creating characters...
I noticed the flow of your lines which make a new pose arise, but for the first flow, do you work with the idea of the pose already? did you do lot of anat?
Incredible work once again, always tuned to see more
wowee wow wow, great freaking update!
As much as I love the lilith finished image and the WIP's I think that mermaid demon (yellow book, second from the last) could have made a better mother's love image if you had pushed it towards that concept. The pose and the viewpoint scream underwater weightlessness...I'm imagining now a room or maybe a giant uterus filled with fetus demons sleeping in amniotic sacs, tended by this fishy nursemaid...
as always your updates are impressive and inspiring.
Well hell,Your handle on photoshop never ceases to amaze me! Keep it up, and drop me a line some time.
You like a cookie, I like a cookie
Nice update, as always. I especially like the latest with the step by steps. The monsters added a big element of suspense.
Keep updating, you've got us all addicted!
Sitting and watching him draw is amazing, and it's an honor to be even in the same room with the guy....I start to drool, and can't control my urges to watch how he controls the pencil to form shapes, and then that's the reason why his art will give you a prostate sunrise.....
gOD DAYUMM MAN NOW YOUR GETTING NASTY WITH THIS SHIT!..
you are on your way man..awesome!
cool beans love this
Cause if my baby dont love me, I know her sister will...
you are where I want to end up. ... this is pure brilliance made solid. Great stuff... can't really say more than that and not go into a huge spree of compliments in all capitol letters... possibly cursing at my own ineptitude... still awsome stuff, you are a constant inspiration.
I think your work is just amazing, man. I love how all of your sketches each seem to have a personality behind them! Even just your doodles look as if they have been pulled from some alternate reality. Hard to describe, other than I love your style and your imagination! Sometimes it almost makes me sad to see people that are great at drawing, but they lack the creativity to make their drawings interesting, but you are just fantastic at it! Keep up the good work, I love to look at everything that you post! Sorry for all of the exclamation points, but you really are that good
dude, you rock. thanks for coloring that pic. i dunno what else to say, heh. keep on postin. get's the blood flowin'

Those are some really nice life drawings, makes me want to go do some myself right now, so I'll just ask how long did you spend on them(unless thats what you ment by 1s 2s and 3s)?
