Okay, the insults ends here and now.
@mes: Your original post made it sound like one of two things. Either you were mad about not getting more votes or you were mocking everyone's entries. Just a misunderstanding. The voting is for who you think made the best design based on the challenge topic. Since you are new, there is a sticky thread HERE that will fill you in on everything you should know about participating.
I'm also new. Can someone direct me to a good spot where we can post these and others for critiques and criticisms?
If you go to the link that was mentioned above and also in a separate announcement thread I made, that will take you to the big guide of ChoW. There is the critique center, on the forum's main page, to get critiques, but only use it after a ChoW week has ended. Basically, do not post any current works in progress of a current chow week outside of the ChoW thread. All ended ChoWs you are welcome do get feed back from where ever.
I hope that makes sense. The rules go over this.
and do the professionals who are behind this site often oversee or participate in the challenges or voting?
Yup! That helps. I read that link before, but I stopped at the mock "reply" box thinking it was a real reply box and that was the end of the thread....my bad -_-
Thanks for the info!
haha, yea, it messed with me too.
@mes: Yes, everyone who runs this site is not prohibited from participating, for it is an environment of learning. What you call "professionals" are actually a volunteers, who use their spare time to help out with this site. I wouldn't consider myself a professional artist because I am still learning and have much to learn. This forum is open to ALL skill levels.
