Thanks, thats really great to hear. A month ago, my brother told me my faces had no souls.. So its good to know im making progress!
Rakno. Great stuff. Paper plates as a canvas. Awesome : )
Yes, I definitely think you are approving. I like the dedication to learning fundamentals like perspective - a lost art, literally! Also, it is nice to see that you are embarking on a study of anatomy. That's great. It will be great to still pursue that in a major way. Don't be a slave to anatomy; study it, imagine with it, and create with it. It looks like several of these are drawn from casual observation. Again, that is great. As far as some of your studies, it 'appears' (and I know this is a very this limited glance at all of your work) that you are studying & copying a lot of illustrative work. In addition to that, if you are not, be sure to study human figure at a very fundamental level, not necessarily as stylistic (y'know, old school). Do both. Do what you love, but do what makes you better. Like others have said, your work is very energetic and expressive. Love that! Good luck.
Glad you like it Micheal, and thank you for your wise words.
Heres some more from imagination.
I definitely like it. In addition, it would be great to see you consider basic light & shadow in your quick sketches. Use the light to define the form. Keep going. It's going to be excellent!
Im Trying out using mechanical pencil and I like it so far.
just bought a new moleskine notebook and ready to dive into it.

Digital painting from imagination. It was tuns of fun and I learned alot from this one, though I'm not satisfied with the result at all.
Imagination sketches in pencil and one pen. Ive been discouraged lately
I really like these! Aren't the moleskines great? I love the feel of the paper in those.
Thanks, and yeah I love the feel and smell of moleskine aswel : )
Thanks Vezarez : D
Apple studies from reference. Frustrated with my painting skills, Ive decided on doing painting studies like this, it seems like the best way to learn, anyone have other suggestions on getting better at painting?
Picked my pen back up, and did these sketches.
Something I learned from this, sort of just stumbled upon it remembering something I saw in another sketchbook and like it alot now, is that I can describe form alot better if I wrap my lines around the forms.
These pen studies are really great - very expressive. If you keep this up you will go far. As for improving painting why not try using charcoal and doing some simple still lifes - it's a very similar approach. Good luck
Thank you i appreciate the advice. Ive been avoiding charcoal for awhile now but ill pick some up and give some still life's a shot. : D
Thumbnail practice. imagination
Imagination- the landscape had a really weak composition to me, so Ive been doing those thumbnails for practice.
No problem, thanks for replying and for the encouragement!
some vehicles from imagination, kinda new to that kind of thing
Perspectives off especially on the closest short building
spent about an hour on this painting from imagination, in photoshop.
Experimented with some different more textured brushes aswel.
I should have gave more solid objects on the right side of the picture, aside from it being just the cabin and the figure. More coherent shapes in the backround aswel. Still, it has some charm and I am actually happy with it : )
This picture mainly is benefiting from my composition thumbnail practice I think, and I feel I am improving.
Heres another painting from imagination. Been extreamly motivated/inspired today, listening to massive attack bluelines album and such, its been really fun!
thanks, and thanks for the advice, I think your right. im working on another character painting now and ill definatly keep it in mind.
heres a very quick sketch I did on break at work today
This took about an hour and a half. From it I feel ive gatherd a better sense of painting. I painted it from a photo I found on google images. Feedback appreciated, thanks guys!

Did some hue and saturation adjustments on my painting. I think it makes it look a bit more vibrant but im not sure.
two hour still life study from photo reference I found on google images. So much new information seems to be dawning in my mind about painting, things I read about in books a year ago Im just now starting to understand, just from these past studies Ive been doing.
Its like leveling up in morrowind : O
Another still life painting from photo referance I found on google images. took about two hours.
portrait study from a photo I took of a friend
Heres a mech design I just finished painting in photoshop. took a few hours but im happy with the result. The idea was a kind of desert tour robot or something, with railings at the very top and I tried to suggest a croud of people but it didn't quite come out. Really not sure what It could be used for, I think it'll be a good idea to begin my next design with the thought, what is it for and what conditions must it contend with? If its cold, how does it get heat? how do you maneuver around it? if it were attacked how would it defend itself? can it? stuff like that.
Been awhile since ive uploaded ink sketches, enjoy, feedback is appreciated.
And this one is from reference of animal gestures.
