Concept: Denizen of the Upper Sky
Recent scientific discoveries suggest that the so called Denizens are distantly related to common moths. How and why the toxic fumes in the upper atmosphere hvae triggered mutations that turned their ancestors into these severly disfigured and gigantic predators is still a mystery, however.

Concept: Denizen of the upper Sky
Great work everyone! Some really fantastic ideas and art!
Here is a Pyrochiroptera, denizen of the upper sky. They mostly feed on their own kind, preying upon the smaller hatchlings. Due to the their toxic environment they develop unique mutations such as tentacles for grasping or strange head ornamentation.
Thanks for looking!
Concept: Sky Terror
The Sky Terror is truly a Denizen of the upper skies. With no food other than it's own kind, this creature has evolved and mutated at an alarming rate. Every generation is a little bit stronger than the last and many fear this creature could develop far faster than it's planet can cope. As agile as a small house fly, but as powerful as a giant squid; the Sky Terror will grab onto it's prey (it's own kind) with it's tentacles and draw in close enough to use it's powerful jaws on anything it can get a hold of. Though not very big (only weighing about 50 lbs), with thousands in the sky, and swarms of the Sky Terror a very real danger, the residence of it's forsaken planet await the day that it can finally breath the cleaner air below and begin to take over the entire planet.

There is a story about a world which has never seen the daylight.Indeed, the sky is a continual combustion of toxic smokes. No one would risk his life to know which creature could live in. But there is one, called GRIMBUD, roaming into the gas, searching to kill. Except its little green lights on the wings and the head, it's impossible to see it clearly. Very fast, between the abyssal monster and the bird of prey, this Denizen of the upper sky is the result of an amazing adaptation in climate changes.
(sorry for my pretty bad english!)

Concept: Mutated Spinetail
Spinetail were a fairly aggressive predator of the planet Jarud. When human started to colonize it to acquire ressources, the toxic fumes drawn into the atmosphere made the creature mutate into abominations. They now live high in the sky, in dense clouds of toxic air, eating each other and attacking anything that venture through, organic or synthetic.
This particular Denizen of the upper skies has adapted much like creatures from the deep ocean. He has developed several poisonous barbs on its tail and as his only "finger" on each arm. Its body is thin and its teeth claws and tail all serve to keep and incoming attack away from its vital organs. It also has a thick skull equip with tentacles for attack and defense and uses fleshy wings, much like a stingrays fins, to act as a shied to its body. This creature is perfectly designed to kill or defend from any angle during its life in the toxic atmosphere.

Concept: Denizen of the upper Sky
This creature seen here is hunting prey; a younger version of the same species. What makes this creature so effective at killing prey is the mutation of being able to project light from the top of its head using sophisticated chemical reactions to create energy which is directed to the very tip of the head. A very beneficial mutation for seeing in the thick, heavy fog. Only a few of this species will get this mutation, and even fewer will ever reach adulthood because it also holds the disadvantage of attracting others of the same species wanting to take advantage of a easy kill.

Concept: Abyssilles, The Denizen of the Upper Sky
The Abyssilles is shown here chasing after its prey, its own youth, as it has resorted to cannibalism to seek another day of survival. This flying beast is able to quickly fly through the toxic fumes of the miasma by using the gases to its advantage, inhaling the gas into its own respiratory system and exhaling through certain pressure valves to glide through the gasses with ease. The development of the individual Abyssilles are varied, but they have a few common characteristics: tentacles, teeth, and exterior lungs to siphon the surrounding gasses. The fumes are key to its survival because the Abyssiles need the gasses to not only move, but also breathe: leaving the gas would lead to a slow death by asphyxiation, thus discouraging it from escaping the miasma for a quick and easy meal. Those Abyssilles that venture down to terrorize the creatures below seldom return to the harsh miasma above.
"Denizens of the upper sky are fascinating creatures.. We've been tracking Doug for quite some time now; he's one of the most vicious specimens we found... In fact, we found him about two years ago, he was devouring on his own mother. I guess that's the price you ought to pay for survival up here. He's been our baby ever since, and we intend to k-- STEVE, TO YOUR LEFT! WATCH OUT! .....
The only denizen of the upper toxic skies. This humongous creature is immune to the dangerous enviroment and gives it room to grow even bigger. Their only threath is bigger Hapalochdon as they feed on eachother. They have no eyes and use smell to navigate. Their long tentaclelike arms, are used as feelers and grabs their prey if touched.

The Grrrugll are denizens of the upper polluted sky. Once beautiful they turned horrific as the world's pollution rose.

Gharpats are known as fierce predators of the Upper Sky. Rare are those who survived after crossing their road.. Their sharp teeth never let go of their prey and compensate these creatures' blindness, which is certainly their weakest spot. Some say they used to have eyes but those gradually disappeared because of the air toxicity which made them go blind and become useless. Better to keep these creatures away from sight though...
The higher your work takes you, the better the hazard pay gets... And why's that you ask?
I hope you never have to find out.

Concept: Denizen of the upper sky
This Vile creature swims through the clouds of poisonous gas searching for food using it's keen sense of smell. It ambushes it's prey from behind, using it's tentacles to hold them while it ravages them with it's razor-sharp teeth.

Concept: Denizen of the Upper Sky
"Born of vile toxins, and pestilential miasma in our futures landfills, these parasitic organisms rose in great numbers into our skies upon a breach of our containment domiciles. Evolving within a volatile, gaseous environment the creatures grew to excrete the own air they breathe through digestive functions. It was only when they had escaped the large contained landfills, we realized our folly. They bred in such rapacious numbers upon escape, their excretions soon blotted out the skies. They poisoned the upper atmosphere while simultaneously trapping themselves within it. Contained within their self made prison, with a population sky rocketing and a food source dwindeling, these creatures soon resorted to cannabalism. Leaving us, with The Ravenous Ceiling."
phew, almost forgot to upload and missing the deadline.
