Hello! I'm Ally Hodges, I've just finished TAD focusing on Illustration. I am working hard to become an editorial illustrator working for magazines, newspapers, and children's books. I've had a profile here for a while but never made any threads of my own work, there are so many people here I guess I felt fine enough to just look at everyone here. But now that I'm trying to make it, might as well either put up or shut up! So I'm putting it up!
So, here are some pieces that I've finished within the past twelve months, most of it within the past six for my final semester in TAD. I hope you like my work and if you have any suggestions to make anything better, please let me know! If I had to warn anyone about anything before you view my work...I really like color...lots and lots of color...
Thanks for viewing!
It's a Dad, Dad, Dad, Dad World. My first professional illustration job, a spot illustration for C-Ville Weekly.
American Gut Busters
Kevin Clash (I made this about a week before the scandals hit. What timing. Kind of broke my heart a little, I was such a fan of his work.)
Of Vice and Men
Here are some more finished images. These are icons made for writer Kayla Ramsay's website! You can see her writing at http://kaylaramsay.com.
Also, I'm happy to say that my piece, Cicada Call, the one with the cicadas forming a dress in my first post, won the editorial section of The Art Order: Nymph Challenge. You can see that too here: http://theartorder.com/the-best-of-artorder/.

Ally you are coming into your own entirely. The colors are very vibrant, and glow glow glow. The work is also very consistent.
If I see one area for you to focus on, it would be your heads...and facial expression. Your hands are handled very well, color and marks..as well as the overall handmade appeal...all strong. Nice work.
