I find I do not paint enough clouds/reflections/water, so I'v tried to tie them all into one to have a go..
..The sea isn't suppose to be either too calm or too rough, somewhere in-between..
..I have linked my sky reference, though I'm trying to pick bits from it and adding to my own, as opposed to a straight copy..
..Any help much appreciated, I know I'm a long way off getting this right.
PS Do many people use cloud like brushes to get their effects? As this is something I'm trying to avoid.
#1 - 'Safe point'
#2 - First attempt - I am aware the island doesn't look right more-so than on the others due to various things.
#3 - Second attempt
All crits are welcome but please try more specifically to crit/advise on the sea and sky.
I suppose I'm more looking for tips and tricks on how to archive what I'm trying to do.
There are no "tips and tricks" for this kind of thing. Understanding water, clouds and light takes observation of these things and how they interact. If you want to be able to handle this kind of subject get outside and paint from observation.
