Hello! So my name is Johan and I'm from Sweden... uhmm..
I've been drawing on and off for about three years. I used to draw a lot in quick spurts then get depressed over younger and more talented artists, causing me to stop drawing for weeks or even months. I recently started to stop caring and focusing more on my own improvement. So now I'm trying to make up for lost time and hopefully I'll become a professional before I die! (That's my goal!)
Feel free to beat me over the head with a (critique)bat as much as you want.
Oh, and if I don't post sometimes it's not because I'm not drawing but because I'm in an art coma. (Too tired after a hard day's drawing!)

Some older stuffs before moving on. (older as in a week or so)
Thank you very much and yes, I am :p
Nej det gör jag inte. Jag sökte till ett grafik program nu i höstas men jag kom tyvärr inte in. :p Men jag planerar att söka något artsy program igen, fast det finns ju typ inget på våren ^^

Last of the studies from the past couple of days.
Stuff from yesterday
fantastic stuff! really dig the bug studies!!
Thank you, timb! I had a lot of fun looking at how spiders are built up.
studies and a wip that i'm kind of at a stand still with.
welcome back man! It's always impressive to see such a bunch of nice studies I especially like your figures, you capture gesture really well. Keep at it!
vart i sverige bor du, om jag får fråga?
Tack, tack! Jag bor en bit ifrån Skövde.
Jag tog en titt på dina bilder, sjukt snygga saker du kan måla.
Usually when I do photo studies I just try to copy the image, but today when I did a face study, I tried to firgure out which muscle created which shadow if that makes sense. I tried to learn from the study I was doing and it was a real eye opener! If I do this a couple of more times and I might just improve my anatomy brainlibrarythingknowledge.

How do I draw male bodies? T_T
Hey, it's back!
So I've gone back to learning the basics which I kind of skipped... also now learning from my studies!
Dumping the last pages of stuff from my sketchbook. Trying to learn about objects mostly.
I want to try and learn how to do hard surfaces...
ah crap i forgot to remove the wall texture from the side windows >_>
I had a weird dream about lava-filled tractor tires falling from a cyclone...
Thanks Moogle, I appreciate it
Continuing on a request for a winged girl. Also a sheep.

Drew random people from life today and the result was so bad it scared me a little. I also studied some architecture stuff which went better.
Thank you Betty, I really appreciate it!
Not really a big update but I felt I needed to update before going to bed. Update once a day to keep the nightmares away? Or was it, draw every day to keep them away
I was doing thumbnails when this super happy little guy appeared and I just had to draw him. I'm having trouble mixing the darker/lighter parts of his body with the shapes, while still having the shapes look good.
I was going to do the C.O.W but then I realised it was already done for this week xD
You have a lovely sketchbook here Johan! Your winged girl above looks great, it would be great to see you develop the sketch further! I really like your gesture drawings too, you can definitely see the action they are portraying. I like the humour behind some of your pieces for example, the frog from your first post is great! I look forward to seeing more of your work!
Thank you The winged girl is a kind of dead end for me at the moment. I don't know what it is but I just don't like it. I might end up redrawing her pose to try and make the stupidly big scythe fit better. xD
I'm not sure if I should be uploading my gesture drawings or not, I usually only do the 30min "class" on artists.pixelovely.com for warm up.
I gave 30 minute (ish) environment studies a shot today. They might not be the prettiest of pictures but I did learn some stuff.
I also did C.O.W (the thing) sketches on paper which was a new experience for me. (The Thing, thing... not the drawing on paper ) I've never really drawn weird creepy stuff like that before so I had a lot of fun going crazy with it.
