hey! i ended up doing some super fun sketches last night! they're not much, but to me they represent the thing i've gotten the most enjoyment out of my art in a long time.
body poses for a character! emotion and action and adjective practice with the body!
hey anyone and everyone. new quarter started, been doing some sketches on my tablet. nothing foundational, mostly fun doodles.
this one's from a set of characters in a fantasy story. elemental dude #1
aaand elemental dude #2
same story but a girl from the 'real world'. tried looking up and using some cute 90's fassions. overall shorts for dayssss.
this guy was fun, timing myself on digital sketching. no reference used, and i need some critique on the pose. clothing weight and limb weight/dimention is something i struggle with frequently u _u thanks!
aaand update! i've had these guys' idea floundering around my head for a couple o years. it's about time i let em out.
more stuff. a spiritual ascetic class of some fantasy forest dudes:
another thing. nothing exceptionally fun or interesting.
about 40% through a commission, decided to do speedpainting and shadowing... my strength is in lines, sketches and inks... not sure this was a good idea, but thoughts? critique?
today i drew a Sheik. i was going with fast motion lines, and instead of being careful with ink strokes instead i just went all over the place.
some actual concept: a girl named Jennifer and her parents. sorry it's so light blue.
What you have posted is very lively, and I see you becoming an excellent animator.

you guys, those comments is what keeps me going < 3 it may just be a couple words of encouragement, but thank you < 3
update on that commission. added a face and did the quick concept colors.

a piece of fan art done recently for Ava's Demon
some pixel practice!
nothin much here. digital inking practice on a crappy little tablet. half satisfied, half dissapointed...
something hit me tonight. it was fun! icelandic adventure story about a demon wrangler with dark magic on her, making her partly demonic herself? adventure? germanic runes?
I love your expression and story telling with your posing.
Also love that in post 33 you added muscles for the extra arms and the way you have the guy move. It's always odd looking when people just draw 4-6 arms that move with magic and are weightless.
some really nice sketches here...but wink-boar is my favourite! should be my avatar! XD
Jared D: thank you! i try to pull as much energy into expressing emotion and story into my art as possible. the real intrigue behind art, concept and otherwise for me, is when i start asking "ok so what does this cool person/creature/thing DO in their story? what is their purpose?"
and yes, unless a creature is exclusively like... ether or ethereal magic, it bothers me if the muscle/anatomy construction doesn't make at least some sort of pseudo-sense :o
Cloud-Yo: thanks! hehe, if you want to go for it, just put like a link-back to the post if you do :>
Xcarbon: haha, well, i spent a lot of my childhood doing that so i guess it rubs off. thanks!
and here we go, lets see what i have
another something from a dream. running around in some undercity subway system. is it a... husky mutant thing? nO IDEA *shrug*
finding more things to put.
I missed her. I've missed drawing them. is this what it feels like to have children who don't call very often?
some quick sketch of another mafia character. she washes the dishes?
forest monster time!~
an old shoe still life i forgot to put here and a Slothcat for a friend :>
EDIT: adding more cuz i drew more shit today instead of doing schoolwork ehuhgh...
a melting giraffe and some glyphs. i've been putting down abstract glyphs that come sometimes when i doodle. tso far they're fun, interpret what you will. i just like the simplicity of them. these are newer ones. maybe i'll upload my older ones some other time.
after not drawing for a while due to school these were the first things i pulled out.
some dorky unreferenced motion poses.
drawings from lunch today.
close up on the unicorn, reference and drawing. my first attempted still life in a while.

neat concepts and nice style! Good work, but I do agree with iamkennstan that you should post more finished stuff!!
imakennstan:thank you! and if i had any i would... i don't make a lot of time to devote to finishing pieces... gotta finish that.
Mewball: thanks! and ^
Xcarbon: thankyou! the shoes are fun, but take a while :> and no... no dancing :B
Joe777k7: ima try to post more!
posting some content: a gremlin with the drafting pencil in Corel 12. i love that program, but theres TOO MANY TOOLS i'm so inexperienced in using everything except ink and pencil ahaaaa~ also it gives my laptop processor a run for its money
whenever i post here it gets me in the mood to do more artwork! have some 60 second poses, it's been a while since i used posemaniacs.com. feels good, even though it looks like poop.

Really enjoying your figures =] I would try to lean them up a little though, try just using one confident line for each stroke. Keep up the hard work!
I'm a peacock, you gotta let me fly!
good that you practice gestures and imagination type stuff, balance that with life studies and exercises that will help you see form.
also perspective studies would really help you in the long run.
keep it up.
V3T: thank you for the advice! the goal is to get to as little lines as possible. :3
GrayPersona:thanks, I try to make sure i don't only fall into one category or the other. i've neglected som etrue perspective studies simply because i don't have the time or the set-up right now to devote to a long-term one. thank you though!
small update soon when the image uploader works again
