Gosh this makes me nervous to be honest and I hope I don't forget to update this every now and then.
Anyhow I've been improving in art over the last 6 or so years and still have a hell of a long way to go still.
But at least it doesn't look like I'm making complete monsters he he he...
Any comments in between are appreciated.
I'll post my first few in chronological order =3
Now then... ehehehe
This is the last one of this week... Only the shading is mine not the line art behind it.
Some things done in photoshop lately... didn't spend loads of time on any of those things, but practice is practice and is worth it even if it looks like.... well yeah that.. xD
I should be spending more time on environments and such =33
It's a good thing you want to do photo studies but if you really wanted to study the sails I think you should have taken another approach.
Right now it doesn't show that you fully understand the sails; How are the sails connected with the mast? Are there any ropes? ...
Really try to see and comprehend objects instead of just looking and quickly painting them.
Some questions you have to ask yourself when drawing:
-What is the function?
-How is it constructed?
-What proportions does it have?
I.e. the boat with the sails, again;
-How are the sails connected with the mast? Are there any ropes? ...
Maybe you should search for a photo which contains more details and sketch it out.
