Hello everyone, it's been some time since I've posted in these parts, but I've recently started work as a concept artist and environment designer for the (very) indie game Far-Fetched.
I'll try and post concept art and background designs in this thread as I produce them, and get some feedback from you fine folks.

I've seen the video, good idea! But if that's the only gameplay mechanic you should use that in some crazy way in order to be cool.
Anyway what do you need heavy perspective concept art for in a 2d sidescrolling game?
Hey thanks. It is a pretty cool mechanic, I wish I could claim any credit for coming up with it, but sadly I'm just the artist. We've got a lot of different environments we're planning to put in the game, where the core mechanic would be applied in different and interesting ways.
And this was really just an attempt to get a feel for the mood and setting of the environment. Most of the final game artwork will be tiles and sprites, with a few more 3-dimensional spaces scattered throughout for set-pieces. Not to mention on my own time I'm trying to put together a environment art portfolio, and this was a great excuse to practice.
Anyway, thanks for the comment, I'll be posting some more concept art on this thread in the future.
I've really liked what you'd come up with. I haven't seen the video yet but your art alone is great. I get a good sense of the atmosphere and sci-fi style of the game. Also your perspective is great. Keep it up, I wish you the best of luck.
Hey thanks guys. I'm working on a concept piece for an environment simulation room for the game right now. I'll post it when it's a bit more developed, but right now I'm still in the layout stage. Day job's been eating up a lot of my time lately.
Unfortunately the Kickstarter seems to have stalled out, in spite of my efforts to publicize it. I suppose if it doesn't work out I'll have some nice art pieces from the experience. Well, the month is young, we'll see what happens, and I'll keep painting.
Been swamped with work. Finally finished another piece of Concept-Art for Far-Fetched. This pic...got way out of control, but I was working on it while pulling 6 day weeks, so it was very hard to buckle down and focus on it. Anyway from my point of view it's a geometric LEAP from my previous digital paintings. My god, after seven years of flopping around in digital art like a walrus, I might finally be getting it.

I will decrease gradually everything after the first two palm tree. To show you better just look at the two vertical column, the upper one is closer to the camera but the lower one has more black values than the other. If you can't see it yet i can adjust your values, i know that's something you have to get used, it takes some time.
Your concept works have a painterly feel to it. Good job.
