Idk if it's just you rushing, but I like those loose painterly lines of yours. It gives a sense of movement in some of your pics.
a knight sketch before work today. lol i hate working fastfood
Very nice stuff, man, and great improvements just in a page and a half. Keep this up and you won't be working fast food for too much longer, ha. I enjoy looking through someone's SB and seeing construction studies and line exercises. Of course, there's always work to be done in these areas, so keep studying those fundamentals like a mad man. I've started a perspective forum with some other guys, if you want to check it out. We'll post tuts/exercises/puzzles for people to work through to get better, so it might be something you'd be interested in. Anyway, keep up the good work, man.
here it is.. lol i cant believe i thought those old gloves looked like gloves. they look more like an umbilical cord :s
here is my first time trying oil paint (: ton of fun
hey! You have many cool designs which is super awesome. Just keep pounding out the fundamentals to better express your designs.. that would be my thought anyhow. and don't stop drawing from imagination. once again.. super great!
so here is a motorcycle sketch, with the page where i thought out the design. the finished one im not very fond of, i wish i could have gotten less messy lines but here it is (:
monster silhouettesss. the rendering is pretty unfinished :s
Some very nice ideas and designs. I really like the insects and the characters. You should try working with some texture brushes , it'll give them a more spontaneous and frisky look.
Please visit , comment , critique and have a chat with me
lol i hated doing this one but here it isss :c
unique concepts you got so far try to refine it and drawing it in a different angle
Everything is permitted
yeah, sure. i should really try a tight perspective design with multiple views.
here is a pencil sketch rendered roughly in photoshop :p
Seeing some good work here, and I agree with conny this last piece is a noticeable improvement. Keep it up!
art is never finished, only abandoned~Leonardo da Vinci
i tried to do a car. the rendering is half assed lol its late :p
Scott Robertson's Rendering Matte Materials DVD's are definitely worth the money, if you're interested. Also, you can check my SB; I posted a few simple renderings a while ago that might give you some ideas too. And cool sketches! I have fun with these form-building sketches, not really paying attention to the why or how of a design but simply enjoying the drawing process. It means you're getting comfortable and having fun with it, which is super important.
just did this
yeah i look into those :o and thanks man i do just have fun with them lol design wise they are weak, mainly because i never do it with limits, im just doodling xD
im working on a mounted character. this guy is gonna ride a giant spider lol this is the rider. i really need to work on cleaner lines u.u
been getting no replies u.u here are some little industrial sketches
i tried to do a siege machine :o its a battering ram (hence the skull on the front ;3) it has to be cranked back by soilders and lunched forward destroying castle doors :p
really nice designs man! the shapes are really sweet. your linework is a bit "searchy" and scratchy but that might be your impatience to skip ahead into photoshop to paint your sketches. otherwise, all the designs and shapes look pretty good. other people on this site are usually more illustrative but i can tell you're definitely dipping your feet into the design realm and making your subjects entertaining to look at which is awesome.
Have you tried inking some of your black and white stuff? That sketchy, line-heavy look you've got going would translate really well to ink, I think. Good practice for line quality too.
Great sketchbook, keep it coming!
thanks guys! im glad the designs are interesting (: when u say ink. do u mean felt pens? cause i use those. unless you mean with a brush and a jar of ink? :o
i wanna start to get better at environments. here is a little sketch, i know it looks like a disney castle :p i need to study them. any good environment exercises u guys know of?
here is the mount for the spider knight guy :o i will draw the full character and mount soon (:
Your Mech designs are really wonderful ! I love the style of your sketches.
