Hi, I just signed up for this place a little bit ago. My art director turned me on to this place. I work for a game company called Simutronics, and I do mostly 3d stuff for their upcoming game. This looks like a good place to hang out, with a lot of top flight people to learn from.
I just thought I'd introduce myself and show a little of my work. C&C is always appreciated.

Love your work. Especialy the Mech. If you dont mind sharing with me how you got your job? Its just what I whant to do and what ive bean looking for.
Yeah, your mech kicks ass but your people need work. ALso, lots of your images look really washed out, like theres to much white. Lets see some more mechs.
Welcome to CA.org, this is the place if you wanna learn and share experience, the communiy kicks ass!
Have some crits tho, third one (conan girl with sword) Her right leg (our drop left) looks to big i think.
Cool style in your drawings, tho i am alittle annoyed by 2 things. 1st one is that some places are kinda blury(?) and 2nd is that i think your anatomy needs alittle more definition.
Keep it up, you have a great standingpoint. wanna see some of your 3d stuff too
Self-improvement is masturbation, Self-destruction on the other hand....
looks a little too cartoonish for my likes
on some pics you need to fix the coloring to make it loko better, other's its the anatomy and style, you seem to be switching between real and cartoon quite often, thats all i can say. just experiment with different brushes and blends. if you can paint in some detail, cuz in some places solid color doesnt cut it. oh, and nice space pimp lol. good stuff, keep it up.
I run well with scissors. Seriously, I do.
Thank you, everyone for your support and criticism. The thing is, I've only had this job about three months, but doing artwork 8-12 hours a day is bound to whip you into shape pretty quick, aesthetically speaking.
JohnBoy.3, I did the 'giant test' at http://www.play.net/hj/. I started by doing minor things offsite as an unpaid helper, but did well enough they interviewed me and decided I was worth having around. Do you have an online portfolio?
To most everyone else: Yes, I think they cartoonishness of my people had started to bother me, but I couldn't really put my finger on what was wrong. Thank you for pointing this out, it seems so obvious now. I've started on some newer stuff, more in this vein:
I took some liberties with the lighting. I may mess with it some more.
Cthulhu on toast, my people from 6 months ago look pretty bad. Whoa</neo>
ever since that bloke posted all them cocks on CA.org i'm afraid to click on posts containing nudity
some nice stuff here
Thanks Doscher. I looked at the site and I will also do the test. I dont have an online portfolio but im going to start posting my work here. I actualy posted my first drawing in the Finished section but I dont think I did it right. I dont really know how to post an image. Anyway the thread is called New Artist.
Hey! Great to see another St. Louis-an up in here!! It's hard to find artists around here who are interested in the game/entertainment industry. I heard about Simutronics and am thinking about applying at least for maybe an intern sort of position. I'm graduating from college in a couple weeks and need all the help I can get! How hard is it to get on there if you only have introductory Maya knowledge and fine arts / illustration background? You can see some of my stuff in my sketchbook if you're interested. Thanks for the help!! I'd like to see more work from you as well! Been a few years since your post so it'd be nice to see how you've grown in your traditional work. Keep it up! If nothing else if your interested I know a few guys who like to do sketch meet ups. It'd be great to bounce around with some other people!
