Ok, well after several weeks without posting anything, this is gonna be a long one. Gonna try to be more constant though, it's really boring to have to upload everything at once. There's a bit of everything here, doodles, finished paintings, unfinished paintings, studies and a few silly experiments. Il probably upload some figure drawing i've been doing lately. Mostly quick gestural poses, so I won't upload everything. Anyways, enjoy!
By the way, can anyone tell me if I can post doodles on here? I couldnt find anything about that on any faq. Id love to put some on here, but I wasnt sure if that counts as valid. Im guessing it is, but yeah, not too sure.
Well, gonna be posting up some life drawing I've been doing lately. The place is an hour away from where I live, but it's totally worth it.
I'm gonna try to make this a kind of drawing diary, so here goes the progress behind all of these quick doodles (there are plenty more, but I couldn't be asked to scan them all).
These are mostly fast gesture poses, with a few lasting 15 minutes, and one, 45. I didnt label which is which though :s . I had been focusing mainly on acurate measurement of the outline, but after going through the first chapter of Vilppu's manual, I decided to go more for the quick poses. Most of the small thumbnails here were done from reference, and like it says in the book, I looked at them and then tried to draw from memory, which was really hard. However after a few hours, it became easier, I guess it's because I started memorizing all the different photos. Gonna take it slowly, until I get the hang of it a bit more. Right now, I'm mostly uncomfortable with drawing backs, and feet, and making sure the legs are the correct length.
That is all, I hope you enjoy looking at these
PS. I have plenty more to talk about these drawings, but I wont, unless anyone wants me to.
Ok, some new life drawing here, although not much. I have a bunch of other 2 minute gesture drawings, but they were too light for my shitty scanner. I tried to focus more on the actual gesture and feeling this time around, instead of trying to measure precisely. The three figures were done in 15 minutes. Theres also a quick study of a horse, and in the metro, I also tried to draw from memory the boga from star wars... Enjoy!
your figure drawing is very good. Nice energy. i am more impressed by your digital stuff. Your use of color and edges is impressive. Keep up the good work.
Hi! Here are more figure drawings. First one is 30 mins more or less, the next lot are 15 and then theres 5. First time I ever draw a large nude model, it was hard but I really enjoyed it. I wish I didnt have a shitty back though. After 1 hour it's hard to concentrate with the paaaain. I've also put a few doodles and also some figure drawing from memory. Enjoy!
It's been like 3 weeks... anyways heres more stuff, been doing some charcoal gestural sketches. Have not touched charcoal in like a year and a bit, so i'm a bit rusty. Gonna get into anatomy next week i think. Oh and just found out i have a hernia in my lower spine (im 21) so thats why my back was hurting so much after several hours of drawing
I photoshoped them into a few panels to make the loading quicker!
Very nice and diverse drawing. I realy like the dali inspired rider, the red black illustration and your colors in the first post. Keep it up.
You've got some really interesting stuff in here. Love all your traditional work. Very vibrant colors. Your character designs are interesting as well. Keep posting!
Here are some more ink drawings. Tried to use grays too. Still need to get the hang of it though. Oh and some cube studies, theres more but meh. I find it really hard to draw cubes pivoting or tumbling around, and I want to get better at that since I heard it's useful for constructive figure drawing. Not been drawing much lately though, hopefully il get back to it soon enough Discovered Mike Mignola for the first time these days, makes me wanna do more ink drawings!!
ps the doodles are promarker
Heres some more stuff! Gonna try to do something a bit more complete this week, seeing as lately ive just been doing nude figures. These are with ink, pen, pencil and charcoal, and the poses were 15 minutes, 5, and one 45, plus one quick one while the model was taking a break . Anyways, enjoy!
